Pure Acid manually pattern change via Midi Controller?
Hello, everyone! Is there any possibility to change the patterns in Pure Acid via a midi controller? I use Pure Acid as AU in AUM and would like to change the bassline patterns manually with the pads on my Akai MPK Mini. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thx & greetings!

Sure, just send a program change message with the pattern you want to play. If your controller can’t send program change messages then you can use mfxConvert to remap what your controller can send to program change.
With the MPK routed to mfxConvert and mfxConvert routed to Pure Acid, engage Learn in mfxConvert. Hit a pad, then set the program change message you want on the output side. Repeat for the rest of the pads. If you make any mistakes just hit that pad again and set the right PC message. When it’s all done save a preset in mfxConvert for future use.
@Lycaan I made these 2 Mozaic scripts for running pure acid in AUM. You can use Mozaic’s AU parameters in AUM to map your midi controller.
Please note that I could not get the fill buttoms on the drummachine to work properly. This is the first script that I have ever written ( apart from the poly step arp version of the same script ) so that was just beyond my skills.

Thx a lot this is working fine for me with the bassline pattern now. But is same possible with drum pattern? If yes how?
Tank you!
The pattern change for bassline is working with program change 0,1,2,3…etc. Maybe the drum patern have own nubers (for example 14,15,16,17…etc)?
Send program change on midi channel 10 for drum patterns. 👍🏼
Perfect! Thank you!
Glad it helped. Also glad I now know this for my own use.
Thanks I didn't know about prog change for drums.
I did a song inside Cubasis a while ago. Used prog change to switch between bass line patterns. I painfully built up the drums by just using PA's sequencer to run alongside CB3's.
Does midi out now work? Will PA output it's midi data to Cubasis 3's timeline?
Basically I'm just seeking advice on the best way to build an acid banger within Cubasis. Thanks.
Works perfect on Ch10 😎
