DAW

What DAW playback can be triggered when you press play in AUM.

Comments

  • BM3 using either Ableton Link or midi clock.

  • NS2 as well via Ableton Link if you consider NS2 a DAW..

  • Its mainly for an audio timeline. Whilst still using aum ( because of how iv setup controllers )

So maybe a timeline ( daw ) on ipad. Aum on other ipad.

    Link.

Either record audio from both ipads aums. Like how cubasis works and merge audio files to a cubasis project.

Or just link and send audio between ipads.

  • I think aum should make a sidebar timeline. Where you got a timeline with or without effects. So its still routed to the mixer channels. Sort of a copy with effects and a copy without effects. So you dont have to set up channels to record effects and some not.

    Not sure.

Just got annoyed with MTD in sidebar and cant even sync.

    Thanks.

  • Timelines.

I started to setup drambo for drums as a host. I were going to add about 300 patterns so there would be the option of tediously editing p-locks of eulidean drums and piano roll > audio synths. Drambo would need audio players. Linked to patterns. So when you loop a pattern to edit. The audio would also loop because the pattern is a zone for the audio stream.

Maybe its best to just work with loops.

  • Cheers Grav. Audiogus.

Just bought Neon ( again )

Will just use aum and drambo.

Cheers Simon. Already bought Mtr. Just bought Neon to easier add cropped audio to Mtr.

Grav. Does BM3 have velocity for slices ( to launchpad x )

Were going to just buy Koala upgrade instead. Although Iv not a track in mind for timestretching. Im using my scratch deck a bit at the mo. Will then make beats from launchpad also soon ( after finishing my new mapping setup )

Thought koala would be best ( if I were to be completing a virtual aum timeline system ) Strumming pitched stuff to neon. Then adding to mtr. Wasnt thinking Id need real timestretching which I think is useful if you change master bpm. Then the pads correspond etc but that would be a bonus. If bm3 does have velocity slices though. Id have link across ipads with bm3 audio output to aum anyway and neon/mtr. Id also have the option of just working in BM3. Instead of AUM.

You can slice samples in BM3 and it's velocity sensitive.

Koala maybe all that you need.

Koala has time stretching and editing as well.
What it doesn't have is velocity layers.
You can create complete sample instruments in BM3.

Velocity chromatic samples from launchpad x?

  • edited November 2021

Its how I envisioned making music before buying ipad. Remixes of tracks I know etc. Before knowing about synthesis etc. Could work well with bm3 to aum. With link bpm and velocity samples from launchpad to a neon to mtr? and obviously the BM3 eco system. Not sure how Id need koala sequencer and auv3. The audio out of drambo uses a channel routing of audio4c so to send to aum. BM3 would need to output on a stereo channel. Like Drambo and garageband.

  • If you're thinking about remixing then I would suggest Koala.
It's really quick and straight forward.
BM3 is a deep sampler and is good for remix stuff and complete tracks.

Here's a link to one of my first videos using BM3.
I used samples and synths if I remember correctly.
The video is of a protest march I attended in 2019.

  • Can you choose a midi channel in bm3 pads/sampler. So a custom mode will be for a bm3 and a custom mode for an aum app?

Yup you can do that and you can also select midi channel per pad.

Nice track. Always your tracks sound real and a good quality.

Just wondering if BM3 to aum and using neon and mtr forarrangment. Would be better than koala. If say BM3 could sample me saying yeah. Then be pitched to launchpad x pads but also realtime stretched should I need to change the bpm of ipads via link but each pad be velocity sensitive like how you would need finger drumming?

Yes, you can do this with BM3.

Once you've set a sample or samples to be time stretched
then you don't have to be concerned with the bpm at all.

Cheers Grav. Will check arranging in BM3 but got audio from bm3 to Aum. Got midi/velocity pads from launchpad to bm3. You midi learn pads but these are the samples already in bm3. Need to see how easy setting velocity will be, with own samples.

    No worries.

Will check arranging in BM3 but got audio from bm3 to Aum.

    In regards to arranging?
Use the arrange page in BM3.

Need to see how easy setting velocity will be, with own samples.

    Velocity happens automatically.
Load up or record your samples into BM3, set them to time stretch and have fun.

Grav. When dropping audio from imports to a track in bm3. Audio is fuzzy. Only time it were ok is when I routed the track I added ( track 1 ) to A1 (bank 1)

You can add audio stems from import without track being fuzzy?
