What auv3 are midi multitimbral? (for use with PolyHarp and AUM)
I am messing around with PolyHarp, a microtonal synth and customizable midi controller. very intresting.
I want to send the microtonal midi to synths within AUM. PolyHarp sends pitchbend data by looping through the midi channels. hende no mpe.
Looks like it only works with multitimbral synths. I can get the microtonal effect with bismark bs-16i in stand-alone but the auv3 just is a simple player.
Are there any auv3 synths that are multitimbral?
Comments
Kasper, BeatHawk and Drambo come to mind.
Layr is another.
AU MIDI router apps MIDI Tools and Polythemus might be worth a look.
Multitimbral is just being able to play more than one sound at once in a synth, right? I've seen a few different uses for the term but that's the one I mostly use. AUM always seemed like such a powerhouse app partly because it essentially lets you turn any app into this definition of multitimbral with an unprecedented amount of cc programmability (not a single hard synth on the planet can match, and few DAWs can even come close).
Korg M1
KQ Dixie lets you play multiple patches at once. You can optionally configure a different MIDI channel for each voice.
ok, i gave it a shot with kasper, layr, iM1, drambo and dixie. none of them seem to recognize the pitchbend data proberly. also all of them are kind of cumbersome to setup in terms of multitrimbral midi.
i was hoping there was a out of the box sound module app as auv3. i will use bismarks iaa in AUM. just a little "inconvenience" i am willing to take on this microtonal adventure
Straight out of the box?
Try BeatHawk.
I currently have four instances of BeatHawk instantiated in
AUM using almost all of the midi channels per instance.
4 x 16 midi channels.
If you're going the IAA route?
You can also use Gadget multi-timbrally.
