No more SoundPrism from March 1, 2022
The dev has posted this message on the app store:
" IMPORTANT: THE SOUNDPRISM SERIES WILL BE DISCONTINUED AS OF March 1, 2022. PLEASE CHECK OUT AUDANIKA, THE OFFICIAL SUCCESSOR OF SOUNDPRISM. SAVE THE SOUNDPRISM-AUDANIKA-COMPLETE BUNDLE. "

This is kind of a shame because it seems that Audanika is not a suitable replacement for SoundPrism because it doesn't seem to fit in a modern workflow since it isn't AUV3 (Yet?) and can't be launched from within AUM or AudioBus.
Actually you can still get soundprism
and they made a bundle with all soundprisms and audanika
but they will retire it
Exactly. But Audanika does create a Virtual MIDI port to which a host can connect. So it can be used, just a bit clunky.
Hmm,
for me the bundle costs more than the new Audanika itself. And yes, i refreshed the app store by pulling down the view
Probably i bought some of the SoundPrism apps in a sale - i had a look at their price graph and there were some discounts from time to time. If the AppStore would show the total bundle price, i could figure it out
.
The price for the Audanika has gone up a bit since release, if i would knew to are going add the AUv3 support the decision would be easy. As far as i read in another AB thread, the new app also uses a different input method for chords.
It took them several months just to add MIDI…which was a very odd choice. I would also like an explanation of how the “Audanika” mode works. I can’t get consistent behavior out of it. Haven’t tried too much though, mostly been on the quest to learn real keys so I don’t need to bother with these things anymore. But it’s still fun sometimes when on the go.
My bundle price was the princely sum of £1 so worth a go 😊
So in the play modes setting you can choose “simple chords” to get the old Soundprism type chords. Audanika mode works like this: the horizontal rows have every note in the scale, the vertical rows are the chords. So you can play the chords with any scale degree as the top note. If you stick to the lighter keys, those will be just the notes of the basic triad chord. They also have a really helpful video on YouTube explaining the music theory in more detail
Best thing about the new one is that it supports split view, otherwise I'd use pro more.
Not yet, but I do think the developer intends on taking audanika to a much higher level. I don’t know specifics, but I think it will evolve into something quite nice.
For me it seems like the dev(s) intends to add lots of additional functionality between now and March when then retire the old SoundPrism apps.
The current bundle is a pretty good way for people like me to get onboard who have never used SoundPrism before and had difficulty choosing between each app.
OK, I have renamed the thread to reflect the expiry date.
Explains the music theory behind how the Audanika app works.

Thanks
I have all soundprism apps but when I go to the bundle, audanika cost me more then the single purchase of it.
How is it possible?
Audanika 4.99 euros.
Complete bundle (with 3 apps of 4 already purchased) costs 6.99 euros.
I found the same pricing in euros. Manageable. It also retrospectively makes the decision to not buy Audanika without a BF sale a decent one.
Wow, AU$3 to complete the bundle when I only had Soundprism Link Edition.
Bundle pricing makes zero sense sometimes.
probably you bought something on discount. or won code for something (not sure if this one counts)
crazy apple
wow, love this app! super intuitive!
Was really wondering why soundprism, even the pro edition, didn't have an option to choose a scale and key in a trivial way. audanika has that feature, thank god.
@tja the keys are much larger in Audanika than in the SoundPrism apps because minimal screen area is devoted to menus. Currently does not have all the features of SoundPrism, but the Audanika developer has said he will add the significant features as they continue to develop Audianka. I have also read him say that he plans to add AU functionality. You might want to contact the developer yourself if you want more information about what their roadmap for the future is.
You can use Audanika with bluetooth so it’s a good way to play apps on your phone or iPad and be able to see the controls for the synth you’re playing.
