I don't hear it drop, maybe you have automatic gain compensation doing things upon playback at your end.

Could you please test your app as an AUv3 in GarageBand with MPE apps to pick up the subtleties of apps like GeoShred?

I can't because GarageBand doesn't support MIDI Processor AUv3s
