Who can recommend an uber comfortable, lightweight pair of headphones, with decent sound quality at a reasonable price?

    Maono AU-MH601

$43... you got my attention. Low price and comfort? Reviews do indicate durability issues
but good for a few months maybe.

I take care of my things. Obv, my Beyerdynamic Custom Pro are more solid, but you cannot have all. They are still mint 2 years later. But like I said, I take care of my things and I do not move often. You can buy them on Amazon and return them if you don't like them. I paid 45 CAD$ for these headphone with a coupon.

I have these headphone since 2019. No problem. Confort A+ for my big head. Good Sounds. As good as my Beyerdynamic Custom Pro.

    Ha, Sold Out!
Edit: available on Amazon as per Maono..

Not great comfort. They get warm pretty quick. Reasonable sound isolation. Good quality detachable cords.

At $35 certainly good, Now at $59 ok. At $79-$100 I think there are better choices. Just my opinion, of course.

Comfort is my number 1 priority.
Most headphones I have tried give me a headache pretty quickly and I want to just rip them off of my head.

Can definitely recommend the DT-770 Pro’s from a comfort point of view. For years I’ve used Sony MD 7506 but my ears seem to get more sensitive to pain as I get older & I reached a point where I got pain after half hours use. Tried many types of pad with them but had to call it a day with them which was annoying as I was very used to them & liked them.
Now having the DT-770 Pro’s I can wear them for hours including with wearing glasses.

If we're going to switch from bang for the buck to comfort then here's a list:

    https://forum.audiob.us/uploads/editor/et/0j6pn49b68lo.png

It’s both an unordered list, and an ordered list. This is troubling in so many ways (well, 5, apparently, but not in that order)

Classic @u0421793 comment... "It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma, but perhaps there is a key." My money is on Bb Lydian. Dada seeks MoMA. No pets.

You mentioned Dada? I mean Doo-dah?

  • I can't comment on if these headphones are good or not.

All I know is that since noticing this thread I keep getting spammed by annoying adverts for them on YouTube.

Note to Status... nothing turns me off a product quicker than aggressive and annoying YouTube adverts.

  • In case anyone is set on breaking the 30€ barrier, I just tried a few Superlux headphones, and I love them. HD681 Evo for bassy music and HD662 Evo for more civilized stuff, at this price point I might as well keep them both…

Get some comfy cups for them though.

  • They come with extra velours pads now

  • Mine arrived today, quite impressed with them. I mean, one could easily pay that price just for the two cables that come with them. Not given them a full test yet, but from a quick play I found them to have a pretty good, flat response, slightly better than using my Sony WMX1000M3 with Morphit. Quite comfortable, fairly light. Bargain.

  • A new "post holiday" sale starts tomorrow. It's $39 right now, I don't know if that's already the sale price or if it's going to be lower than that.

  • I did get these when I saw this thread, cost me $36 total with shipping. They do sound very good. No complaints there. They look good too.

The headband is top heavy, and I have a big head too. Unless they are adjusted to fit super super snug, the headband just falls forward or backwards from its own mass. Not uncommon.

Also, the headband adjustment itself is really stiff and kind of annoying. When they’re on my head I can’t really make them looser or tighter, just seems stuck. I’m used to the 7506s with the easy clicky adjustment and metal inner band. These feel more like stiff plastic and don’t want to budge.

The earpads are comfy enough and seems like I can wear these for a few hours (if they don’t fall off).

Overall, good sound, good buy at that price.

And yes since I’ve ordered them I’ve been getting like 7 emails a day from the company. I get it, but it’s too thirsty.

So which headphones did y'all get? The status audio ones?

  • My status audio were just delivered today and the initial impression is that I really like what I’m hearing. My 7506’s are starting to get a little tired (they’re 17 years old now) and these looked promising. I’m glad that they seem to be living up to my expectations, hopefully they stay that way.

Yes. They are available on amazon.
I just ordered mine and they delivered it today within 2 days.
I liked it. Also, they have given 15 days to return it if not satisfied according to amazon return policy.
    Thanks for the recommendation.
