Tesseract

A four dimensional cube.

PurePiano, BeatHawk Total Bass, Tal U-No-LX, 2 tracks Jazz Drummer.

Comments

  • Really liked the synth arpeggio that comes in mid way.

Sounds like how one would imagine a tesseract
to sound though in reality it's far more brutal.

    Awesome as always.

  • Thank you @Gravitas. Not sure where my titles often come from. In this case, tho there are four instruments, piano, bass, drums and arp. The arp felt like the fourth dimension in the track. But why is a tessaract brutal? Is it the dimensional distortion?

The tesseract experience might rely on the cataract condition, I remember something 😉

But a tesseract, in geometry, has six sides, and can be unfolded into 8 cubes. I think you could have titled your piece “the square”? lol

I think @Gravitas is referring to the “Tesseract” (Cosmic Cube) from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s the cube that contains the “Space Stone” one of the “Infinity Stones”, and would definitely be considered “brutal” in sound and/or function.

All said, great piece! Totally dig the arp which I’m assuming is the TAL-U-No-LX synth.

Ahhh, I see what you're saying in regards to the title.

To clarify I used what I now know as vector synthesis
to actually draw a tesseract on an oscilloscope.
The sound of the oscillators is brutal not the tesseract itself.
    A tesseract is quite beautiful.

    Here's the tesseract I drew.

No, I actually drew a tesseract earlier this year.
It's one of my drambo light synth projects.

But it hypothetically exists in four dimensions, no? My original title was Four Dimensional Solid

  • You’ve said you won’t respond to my posts anymore, so I’ll just say you continue to do some of the most interesting work centered around the piano of anyone here, LL. Nice piece.

A tesseract is a four dimensional object.
    It's a hyper cube.
What we see as a "tesseract" is a three dimensional representation on
a two dimensional surface i.e iPad screen of a four dimensional object.

It has 24 faces, 32 edges and 16 vertices.

Marvel grabbed the name because it sounded cool and scientific.
