Drambo standalone vs inside AUM

Hi everybody,

Can I ask you for comparision?
Drambo standalone can host auv3 with access to their parameters, easy to modulate.
Also easier/faster routing is in D standalone.

But AUM access all auv3 parameters, can show auv3 window by midi learn, allow multitrack recording…..
The only thing is , If you want modulate from source drambo auv3 in AUM to other destination auv3 in AUM there is MIDI mapping, which is time consuming.

What are other main differences are between drambo standalone vs inside AUM from practical POV?

D standalone can be MIDI slave to clock. AUM not.

    Hosting Drambo inside aum lets you load Drambo presets via midi messages. That's not supported in standalone.

    Drambo in AUM

    • allows multiple instances.
    • allows easy MIDI routing and filtering, without needing a MIDI loopback kludge.
    • has a natural interface for mixing and level monitoring (peak and average).
    • can include connection to IAA.

    IMO, you choose a configuration, stand-alone or AUv3, that works best for a particular scenario.

    Think Im setting to route both hosts to aum on another ipad. Do glitches from app switching get recorded? It would mainly be for DAW work anyway and can use midi for things, to not app switch when live noodling.

    It would have to be Aum though if I couldnt route this way and import audio from drambo to aum. Or aum to Drambo. Depending on how Drambo unfolds.

    I hope ( if not already implemented )

    Drambo recorder will be for tracks but not confined to a pattern obviously. Im sending a host drambo to aum. Might be ok for live noodles but transfering stems to a DAW would need to be tracks but also free from patterns to record clip launching.
