Timeless 3 crossfeed mixer usable for headphones?
I bought Timeless 3 in the BF sale, and I’ve just noticed that it has a crossfeed mixer slider. Could this be used on a headphone monitor channel in a DAW or AUM / apeMatrix to simulate a stereo monitor field for mixing purposes? Has anyone tried this? What level of crossfeed mixing would be needed?
EDIT:-
No responses yet, so I wondered if I should add a bit more information…
I’m only looking at mixing stuff for my own consumption as a way of learning a bit more about the mixing process and the psychoacoustics of stereo recording. I don’t have a suitable room for using monitor speakers but I do have a pair of Sennheiser HD650 headphones which I use for messing about with music - I find them a bit tiring when using them with my hifi on commercial recordings, but they’re great for playing with my iOS synths and archtop guitar on a clean amp setting (nothing loud or bass-heavy!). I was thinking of using TB Morphit on the same headphone monitor channel as Timeless 3 above to “correct” the headphones, but recording to a separate master channel which bypasses these effects. Incidentally, I also wondered if I could use Pro-Q 3 instead of Morphit if I could find some suitable EQs for the HD650 (but that’s another line of investigation; I’m most interested in what I can do with Timeless 3).
So that’s the background. Basically I’m just looking for a new rabbit hole to explore to keep my brain well-fed and distracted in these bizarre times. If anyone has any advice or useful links my little grey cell would be very happy.
Thanks for any help.
