How To Sample YouTube Videos
The subject of how to sample YouTube videos has come up here a few times, and on other iOS music forums as well, so I've written a short guide explaining how to accomplish this.
You can read the guide here.

Very nice, Haunted. It isn't something I can use, but I think it is great that you took the time to make the webpage (complete with links) to instruct those who want this.
Check out this app Beat Time. thats what i use when i need a sample from youtube. You can trim the specific portion that you need from the video clip
Sorry, just read the link you provided and noticed your way has the ability to choose a better quality download. Thanks for sharing.
Hey, did a google search trying to get a good method for this and it took me to this thread. Haven't been on the AB forum for a while so I don't know if there's a newer way, but the link posted doesn't work anymore. Anyone have some other advice to sample YouTube? I can probably just use the iPhone 5 mic recording my monitors too but doing it through software would be awesome. Thanks.
Is this the ifiles way ? Can't see the link ?
The Anytune Pro + supports this and works well. I am assuming you are referring to extracting the audio only, which is what Anytune Pro does.
@DaveMagoo yeah link doesn't seem to work anymore, but if it's through iFiles I'd definitely like to see the method since it's a 2.99 app. I'm guessing it's FTPing the audio from a PC to iPhone via that app.
@funjunkie27 I'll look at Anytune Pro some more and see if it has more features I'd like to have. Must be pretty dense considering the 14.99 pricetag. But if there's no FTPing and it can all be done through that app that's definitely a plus. Thanks
Anytune Pro is great.
Apparently an app called BEAT TIME, also now has this feature. But I don't own it.
Before Anytune, I would use TUBE DOWNLOADER (I imagine there are dozens of similar apps) to download the video mp4, and import that file into AUDIOSHARE, that would then store it's audio.
And if you have Audioshare, then you'll know you'll be able to direct that file to anywhere you like.
I'm not very impressed with Beat Time. It seems that it downloads both audio and video, and it is confusing to me where the app stores it. Anytune is very straight forward though, plus it has a lot of additional features that make it worth owning...to me, at least.
Sweet thanks guys looks like I'll check out anytune
The free version of AnyTune plus the $5 export enabling in-app purchase seems to be the best solution. It only imports the audio from youtube and you can set loop markers to export only a loop range to export or have the resulting m4a "Open In..." into apps like Audioshare.
I've been using Total Recorder on PC for the last 10 years or so. It captures any audio that comes out of your computer. Great program.
On Mac I use Audio Hijack. It does the same sort of thing.
Whoah, just checked out AnyTune. There goes my temporary app embargo.
whoa didn't know anytune had that feature.
I use Beat Time. I really like this. It's has AB and IAA support.
