the Doors - fender rhodes bass app?
is there a fender rides bass keyboard app on ios?
i’ve been listening to a lot of the Doors and never knew the bass was actually a fender rhodes bass version of a rhodes? crazy cool

I don't know of any specific app that replicates Ray Manzarek's Fender Rhodes Piano Bass, although there are plenty of regular Fender Rhodes apps.
The bass you hear on the records though is actually a bass guitar - they hired session musicians in the studio to replicate Ray's basslines on bass guitars because the E piano didn't quite have the same punch. So the sound of the Rhodes was what they had when playing live, but not in the studio.

Any of the current Rhodes apps will do: Electric Vintage, VTines, Neo-Soul Keys Studio 2 - I'm sure there are a couple others. The Fender Rhodes Piano Bass was simply the bottom couple octaves of a standard Rhodes keyboard.
The electromagnetik collection, for sampletank, has a Rhodes bass pack, and there is another one, maybe by samplemodeling?, for desktop. I’m not sure if either of those made it to iOS. I didn’t get that Rhodes bass pack in the group buy though because for the amount of times I’d use it (probably never) the bottom octaves of a Rhodes app would do.
A side note: the wicked bass line in Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas” is him on Rhodes bass, I believe while also playing the chordal Rhodes part with his other hand. Donny Hathaway was so talented.
Just listened to This Christmas. It sounds like real electric bass on there, doubled with EP. The EP sounds like a Wurlitzer.
oh cool. i didn’t know that. thanks that helps quite a bit
(edit) Ray talks about the bass guitar overdubs in this one:
awesome. so much freaking talent
Just been working on an acoustic guitar backing arrangement of Donny Hathaway's This Christmas for a gig - definitely one of the more challenging tunes I'm playing. Was trying to capture some elements of his keyboard/bass lines. Donny was amazing!
😲
That’s only on live recordings. In the studio they used bass players (mostly Doug Lubahn), who often went uncredited.
Gospel Musicians MKSensation Xtreme might be a nice option to create your own layered preset that includes a Rhodes and e.g a nice fretless bass using other GM AUv3's.
