Sequestration

This is an alternate version of Hindustan Boutique, minus the Bansuri Flute and adding iLectric and a SM2 Sine. Totally remixed. I much prefer this. Sometimes we try too hard (at least I do).

This expresses, I think, the power of linear chord movement. Almost no melody, yet it is moving, IMO.

  • Nice to hear the implicit melody narrated by your wisely chosen chords!
Thank you for posting your art 😊

  • Beautiful combination of sounds... very moving.

  • Thanks @rs2000 for the kind words. Tech question… this track depends on being able to hear the differentiation of notes in the chords… something that is rough on iOS pianos to begin with… but when I crank the volume above a critical point that subtlety disappears. Anything to be done to retain that level of detail in what I am doing? Thx, brother, have wonderful holidays.

And thank you @McD. I’m glad you appreciated it,

  • @LinearLineman I wouldn't say that Ravenscroft or Pure Piano lack in note differentiation, it might rather be your choice of presets?
The more treble content the piano sound has, the higher the chance of overlapping harmonics that can be interpreted as "less differentiation between notes".
This is one reason why complex chords often sound more sexy on a Rhodes EP - it has a rather mellow tone that simplifies focusing on the notes played.

That’s interesting. I find EPs much worse in differentiating notes in complex chords. But, it’s even tough, in the bass range, on a good acoustic. Maybe it’s our ears? Or my ears?

  • @Paulieworld, you’re right. Some poetry would be apt over this one. Only thing missing is the bongos.

  • Beautiful and moody.

  • The timbre of the lower notes of the piano combined with the string bass got my attention. Tabla and piano, also a great combo idea. Isn't there a tabla in there? I wana do that now.

  • Thank you very much @AlexY. I appreciate your listening!

@Stochastically, yes, tabla from Indian Drummer. Piano and tabla def works for me.
