Drambo Gate+Velocity sequencer as arp like in LaGrange - how to?

In Drambo I’d like to use the Gate+Velocity sequencer in the same way the arpeggiator works in LaGrange. Is this possible? How do you do it?

It seems to me the Gate+Velocity sequencer is free running always when clock is connected. If I connect gate then it only advances with a note on. I want to make it advance while a note is held down.

Any help much appreciated.

  • I don’t have LaGrange. If I understand correctly, you want the seq module to run only while a key is held?

    Correct.

@Gravitas Yep that works. Thanks  Bonus points if there is a way to do this as a chord. I dont think LaGrange can do it but SynthMaster has a chord mode in the arp. It would be great if I could use the sequencer module to trigger chord stabs/plucks whilst the chord is held down.

@soundtemple You mean you'd play a chord and the arp would transpose it en bloc instead of splitting it up into single notes?

Edit: Ah no, SM1 only re-triggers the same chord. That's even easier: Just trigger the gate input of your Amp Env using a beat-synced square wave LFO for example.

@rs2000 I just want the gate/vel sequencer to trigger the chord en bloc. I'll send/play the chord. Dont really "want" the arp.

Synthmaster has a sequencer with a chord mode that works as I would like Drambo to.

Gate from MIDI2CV and LFO output go through the AND module in order to only run the arp while the chord is played.
Use a CV+Gate sequencer if you want more rhythmic expression control than with a simple LFO.
Add a CV sequencer for each parameter you want to modulate rhythmically (like filter cutoff etc).

  • @rs2000 Thankyou! Would never have worked that out myself. Never used the AND module before. Got it working with Gate/Vel sequencer. V.Happy. :)

    hi @rs2000
what is the "sine pd" oscillator?

  • Sine PD = Sine Phase Distortion. (PW adjusts the phase distortion).

  • @Samu that's coming in the next update, right?

  • so the modulator must be included?

  • Great to hear @soundtemple 😊

Sorry @rototom, I've accidentally used a beta feature here - not required for the original function though 😉
