Doubler like Plugin on iOS?

I'm looking for something that is similar to the Doubler 2 plugin offered from Waves on iOS. I've tried the 4Pockets harmonizer but it has some serious delay when its applied. Is there anything similar to what I'm looking for? Specifically for vocals as well

For anyone not familiar of the plugin - https://www.waves.com/plugins/doubler

  • AudioDamage Discord 4 is excellent for such small shift amounts.

I use this on nearly every session but for vocals I couldn't quite get it how I wanted. I'll have to try again

  • Not a doubler but Jax Unisonic can do 8 pitch shifted voices.

  • Just some options not necessarily endorsements

    4P vocal soloist
    Harmonizr
    Harmony Voice
    Emo Chorus

  • A few from eventide and still on sale

    Qvox
    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/qvox/id1488786684

    Micro Pitch

    Crystals Harmonizer

  • Not exactly what you’re talking about but…

You can also duplicate any audio track and double them up. Then add some variety to one or both. For example pan it differently, Pitch, volume, fx, etc.

Or bus the audio, like in AUM and use two, three, etc… outputs.

Or you can you a looper like Gauss, enso, and do a few takes.

    Just some thoughts.

  • Another trick that's low-CPU is to use a sample delay like Stereo Lag from Blue Mango with a ~33ms delay for one channel, and a Stereo-to-Mono processor after it.

Definitely. That’s a free app too.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll check these out.

I'll give this a try too. Thanks!

  • Eventide MicroPitch (previously mentioned) seems to be a close fit for this.

If you need more than doubling there is Emo Chorus?

A(ny) doubler like the Wave‘s one is based on different content of the 2 source channels.
It does not work with simple delays, panning and the like. ;)

The original (analog) process was based on tape recordings and no 2 tapes can ever be identical, due to motor speed variations and random magnetic material.

The difference is subtle in tech terms, but huge in listening results...
(pitch-shifting is one of the most simple approaches to achieve a „completely different“ content on one track)

  • Tonestack Pro has an effect called the Duplicator.

👆👌 My favorite doubler effect is Waves’ Reel ADT. Was going to ask about recreating that in Drambo when I saw this Duplicator from ToneStack which I had forgotten about. It’s actually great and does a lot of what Reel ADT does, specifically the vari-pitch stuff. It makes doubles a lot more natural sounding. A doubled take is going to have small variations in both pitch and timing, and it really makes a difference.
Thing with these multi-effects like ToneStack is that you often “forget” about them for specific tasks. I did use Dulicator and it sounds nice and fat.

  • Does anyone know whether ReelBus has an ADT preset?

From what I’m reading ADT should be achievable with most tape-delay effects - wet/dry 50:50 ish, short delay, no feedback, wow and flutter set to make the double different enough.

Hadn’t thought about wow & flutter to recreate the ADT effect!. Makes sense, you’d need slow speeds for the changes in tone and speed to sound natural. Os for the wet/dry, I’d use it on a send instead at full wet so you can play with the panning and treat it like a whole different take, maybe adding different effects.

  • Its been a few years! Anyone know if any ADT apps have been made yet?

I keep looking at the strymon deco v2 pedal as a possibility since i use a lot of hardware , but always down for a good iOS app!

  • Have you seen the Nembrini Doubler?

In theory it should be fit for the purpose. I've been trying since v1 and never found it to work on vocals either.

Micro Pitch by Eventide was the one I found to provide the best results on vocals

This one sounded best to my ears too, now that I've listened to it, so here I made something for you Drambo owners:

  • I just added an FX-only version that you can load as an AUv3 effect directly in your preferred DAW (including Drambo).

They seem to release a lot of free apps but that’s not one of them me thinks.
