Loopy Pro Jams
I created my first jam session with Loopy Pro today while filming another video. Instead of just post it here, I figured I would create a thread to encourage everyone to post some Jams with Loopy Pro. I am not the best Uku player or live looper but it is so much fun and I hope to get better and better.
Lets all encourage each other.

Love it!
I hooked up a keyboard to my iPad and took Loopy Pro for a test drive and printed the audio out. It's like creating parts in Cubasis 3 but with a lot less friction. Just change the instruments and record another loop until done. If a loop offends thee, pluck it out. I could see this becoming a viable option to AUM because it's performance based. AUM is a joy for constructions with generators. Mix the two will also be fun once I become as fluent in Loopy Pro as I am in AUM... should take a couple months.
@McD I really like "If a loop offends thee, pluck it out"
A looper can very much be a live, improve tool but I think some people forget that it is a great songwriting tool.
It is great for sketching out parts. And the pages are handy for different song sections.
I use Loopy sometimes to catch riffs and chord progressions with quick takes…and can later replace them with long non-looped takes. Loopy tracks (loops played once) can be as long as one would like.
I don’t know what it is, but I find LP a much more fun and transparent tool for pulling ideas together than any of the many DAWs I have.
Oof, forgot about Loopy Pro! I started my free 7 day trial right before I visited family for the holidays haha. Guess I gotta just buy it now, eh?
7 days would NOT be enough to plumb the depths of Loopy Pro... when you have the $30, jump in. I think having 7 days of access and then loosing it would be worse if you can't swing the purchase.
IMO, you probably don't need to plumb Loopy's depths to decide if it is worth $30. For anyone on the fence, it is probably worth watching some videos before trying it out in order to decide to get a sense of what their is to explore so that one can spend that 7 days using the features that one feels are important to one.
Not my video - but towards the end it’s cool the way he’s using the slicer mode on his recorded e-violin.
I mean, I'm gonna buy this either way. It's up there with SWAM for things I need to buy but I'm broke and almost homeless. But for me having just 10 minutes to interact with an app is more effective than several hours of watching a video of someone else using the app. The depths aren't as important as the tactile feel and responsiveness, which isn't always easily translated over youtube videos. Especially for AUV3 loopers. Much like video game designers with the 30 second gaming loop being more important than the game as a whole, the 5 second looping loop is so, SO important. If arming, recording, deleting, and overdubbing aren't as immediate and fluid as molding clay, it doesn't matter how deep the app is, it's basically worthless.
That said -- Loopy pro was feeling very reactive and responsive for the little time I spent with it. More than any other ipad looper I've touched. In fact, I was asking myself if I'll even need AUM anymore after about a few minutes of using this.... which is pretty crazy to think about. I'm mostly just not ready to spend 30 bucks on an app haha. And also thinking that if I wait a year to buy this and just keep using my loop station, I saved myself a 1 year subscription in updates. It seemed that it took considerably longer to load auv3's than AUM takes, and I'm guessing that will be fixed in the next year, which was my only hold out to still using AUM. Loopy pro basically looks like the things AUM is missing that I wish it had
