I have an iPad Pro 2021 11 inch 256 GB. No compatibility issues. Fast as hell. With an AU host that is able utilize multi-core processing the performance comes close to a MacBook Air. ATM only Cubasis 3 can do that. Anyway, you usually still have a lot of headroom in other AU hosts, too.
FYI: the naming difference between M1 and Ax chips is just branding. They are all ARM-compatible chips, the M1s are faster versions of the As.
It’s crazy how fast the performance is increasing on each iPad generation; My 2018 iPad Pro still handles everything I throw at it, but I’m glad these faster models give developers more headroom and incentive to push the boundaries of what the platform is capable of.
I just ordered a M1 Pro 16” MBP, but will likely stick with my iPad for another few years before upgrading.
