What’s the quickest way to audition a MIDI file in the files app?

I have tons of midi files I want to audition quickly. Suggestions?

  • Audioshare can play them with beeps.

When I click on a midi file in the files app it open a page that offers "Open in Cubasis 3" in the upper right corner. But then in Cubasis 3 I have to look in "Media" and "MyMIDI Files" and click on the right MIDI file with the same name.

So, I tried BS-16i and it makes you open the MIDI file as the current "song".

I used to have SoundCanvas and it was good for a lot of MIDI files. But I think Roland pulled it back. Not happy about that.

Long holding the MIDI file and using the "Share" option then lists apps that can be targeted. iSymphonic seems to be a good target for me. Cubasis is offered along with BS-16i but iSymphonic opens on the play MIDI file page.

  • Helium? I don’t own it but I think that’s one of its main features.

Yes, you can just press on the MIDI file to preview it.
