Improvisation controlling swam trumpet with my guitar with guitar midi2.

I've not gone deep in the settings but it sounds really interesting.
I'll use this for sure.

  • Holy smokes, this is incredible! I don't know much about trumpet but it sure sounded like there was a lot of inflection and soul in the sound, like it was being played by someone who knew how to manipulate the instrument. Does SWAM do all that for you? I know you are a master at guitar, was it interpreting your vibrato correctly to make those nuances in sound?

As I said,I've just scratched the surface as I'm a lazy man😉 but yes,it responds well to dynamics and nuances.
I have no doubts it could do much more.
    Thanks for listening!

  • I couldn’t get MIDI Guitar 2 to work at all last time I tried it. Might have been an iOS version thing. This reminds me I need to give it another spin!

    It deserves it.
    Thanks!

  • Yeah wow. That sounded so smooth

  • Truly amazing! Your playing is so well adapted to the trumpet sound I would not have guessed it was midi guitar in a million years. I would love to hear more of your midi work in the future in addition to your fine guitar playing. Excellent.

    Glad to hear that😀.
    I may do some more😉.

That’s excellent work. Especially being controlled by a guitar. The ultra high notes lose some of the realism, but hey., still great and some nice lines. 👍👍

  • Beautiful. Amazing work.

  • You have a real knack for this. Do you have any performance tips?

Not really.Just playing as usual and having fun doing it😉.

  • I like your note choices... you rarely play a bad note. I shouldn't be surprised that you have all the jazz scales down cold.

These SWAM instruments are really amazing considering that they are not based upon recordings but on the maths. (I love saying the maths).

I play by ear and I love playing with different "colors".
    These apps sound truly amazing!
    Thanks a lot for listening!

I finally had the chance to give this a full listen, nice work!

Tell me if you would, how do you have MIDI guitar 2 set up? Stand-alone? Or are you using the AU in AUM?

I use it stand alone in a very basic way as often with me😉.
Swam trumpet is loaded in Aum and the usual midi thing.
    Very simple set-up.
    Thanks!

  • Beautiful stuff… I think technology now has reached the point that almost any instrument can be made to sound like any other instrument but you still need musicality, skill, technique, feeling etc to pull it off… you have those things!

    Thanks a lot @GeoTony !

  • Excellent @flo26 . Were you controlling Swam with a MIDI expression pedal, or was it all done by the guitar tones?

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ll be giving this another try soon, but as I mentioned, I couldn’t get it to work at all last time I tried it.

  • Sweet @flo26! Do you use the IAP's? (A little expensive - wife won't let me!)

  • 👍👍👍

Have you contacted JamOrigin? make sure to report the issue if it isn't working as an AUv3...it used to work, but I haven't cranked it up in a while.

You might check the legato and after touch settings in MG2. Pretty fun to play with.
