Just in time for the New Year, the 2022 Trance remix of "Lora's Day" done in Korg Gadget!

This is a new remix of a piano piece I wrote in 1996 called "Lora's Day", and it will appear on my upcoming album "The eXperience". Yes, I did remix this track earlier this year in NS2, but upon listening to that remix, it just doesn't have the type of energy I'm looking for in a piece of Trance.
This time however, I remixed "Lora's Day" in Korg Gadget. Here's how the instruments break down. The silent sidechain signal is driven by CHat Detroit in Recife like usual. The Kick, Clap, Hats, Tom, and Crash are Recife as well, and that thick juicy snare is from London.
The boomy impact sound is Amsterdam, and the riser is Montpellier.
There are three basses going at once. The off-beat sub bass is Chiangmai, the off-beat Midbass is Dublin, and the 16th note bass is Berlin. The "dubstep" bass at the beginning is Warszawa.
The main Trance lead is a combination of Lisbon and Montpellier. The chordal lead is Phoenix, and the background chord synth is Kingston. Finally, the arp is Kamata.
Then the "real" instruments are as follows - the piano is Salzburg, and the strings are Glasgow.
As you can see and hear, this piece is definitely not Minimalism and is very involved, lol.
Mastered in Cubasis 3 with the usual standard plugins of MagicDeathEyeStereo, BarkFilter Tripleband, and TB Barricade.

Did you export the MIDI from NanoStudio 2 and put it in Gadget 2? Or did you route the MIDI from NanoStudio 2 into Gadget 2? Or other?
I may have to try out your master chain. Currently I only use Barkfilter and a few effects but I should check out Barricade and MagicDeathEye Stereo.

I'm curious to hear what type of effects you use in your master chain besides the trusty ol' Barkfilter. Do you have MagicDeathEyeStereo and Barricade yet?

Currently, I haven't put a lqot of effects on my master. Barkfilter, Wider, and a few stock effects in Garageband such as a little track reverb were what I worked with.
Something I learned from Ken Lewis' stream was to mix as if you were making the final song, but leave a bit of headroom for mastering. Should be interesting to try out, especially as I'm looking into Cubasis 2.

Reverb on the master buss is tricky. You must make sure to use a reverb that can hi-pass the low end. I forgot if Garageband's stock reverb can do that or not. If not, might be best to not use that reverb on the master track given the amount of mud that can be formed.
That's what I usually do. I usually do a generic mix in Gadget as I go along adding instruments, but then when it's time to adjust levels, I slap on a limiter, make the mix squashed, turn all the instruments down to 0 except for the kickdrum, and then bring up each instrument again bit by bit, starting with the most important instruments (like the vocals, subbass, lead, etc). Then I turn the limiter off completely.
Then in Cubasis 3, I play back the loudest portion of the track to see where it's peaking, and then I turn down the volume until it's peaking around -12dB. Then I do my mastering chain.
And believe me, Cubasis 3 may cost $49.99, but it's very much well worth the investment. It was explained in your "switching my workflow" thread better.
