Triggering ios drum apps with Alesis Surge Kit
Hi guys, While the class compliant Alesis drum kit do trigger BM3 and Garageband drumkits without any trouble, Sugar Bytes DrumComputer, BeatHawk and Bram Bos' drums do not seem to "see" the midi note input. Sugar Bytes DC does see the alesis hardware, e.g. it responds to the midiclock, but that's all i can get it to do. :--(
Anybody else able to get drumpads to work on ios14 with any other ios drums (both stand alone and as AU3 plugin?) Thx!

You may need to remap the notes, and maybe change the MIDI channel, depending on what the pads send and what the apps expect. Do you know what the pads are sending? You can use a tool like StreamByter to do the remapping.
It looks like the factory kits in BeatHawk are mapped an octave higher than where you’d expect them. If you have AUM you need to transpose the midi note +12 or employ the StreamByter hack suggested by @uncledave.
The Acoustic Drums IAP is mapped according to GM spec so it should be plug and play. Make sure BH is in pitch mode.
