Jamuary 03, 2022 - Zone out with AUM and Gauss
I struggle to calm my mind before bed. Between anxiety, ADD, and depression, and being a middle school teacher during a pandemic, my brain can be my own worst enemy. Ever since I got my iPad, it's helped me to slow down before bed. I tend to open AUM, Borderlands, or Samplr, and just jam away making relaxing soundscapes. This one was so interesting to me that I wanted to flesh it out a bit.
This one is one note from my voice recorded to 8 Gauss loopers, which are then set to different speeds to create the choir. It's also run through a ton of FX for ambiance. The remote SL is connected to AUM and controlling volume and pan of each track.
It's definitely not interesting enough to listen to intently. Instead, try laying back, closing your eyes, and breathing.

What is that control surface called? "SL"?
Adding in the element of video to this work gave it a lot of power as an experience.
I should make a playlist of works like this to feed my restless brain at night. It might work to
turn off the inner dialogue and encourage me to stop the tape and...

@McD It's an original Novation Remote 25SL with the keybed removed. I plan on hacking it apart to turn it into just a knobs and faders controller, but keep the joystick and touchpad. I have a Keystep and Launchpad Pro MK3 that work better for me keys-wise.
I'm glad you like it. I have a ton of these. Maybe I'll compile them and release them for just this purpose!
Nice!
This is great! I’ll half to dig in the closet for my 25SL and give it a try as a straight controller.
Nice work, and the vid gives it an extra dimension. Subscribed!![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Sounds great! Love running multiple instances of Gauss for things like this and also use the iPad to help calm my brain.
25SL is actually a great controller with a good degree of customisation via templates, which you can assign to the grey pads or buttons for a quick recall. The keyboard is actually very decent and has aftertouch.
I’m not a keyboard player but if I was I’d get the 37 key or more version and centre my set up on just one controller.
As I’m not a keyboard player I’m using Circuit tracks as input device with scales etc.
The pads are a total let down for drumming.
