Saying hello and wishing we could somehow...

Hey all,
Great community here! I've lurking for a while now but thought I would say hi.
I've got tons of apps including the amazing audio bus but there is one thing that would be awesome. If somehow we could record the output of YouTube through audiobus into some of our apps like impc or beat maker 2 etc. I would love to sample so much stuff from YouTube but it's kind of pain to do it all through a laptop. I guess I'm being lazy,I'm sure the original hiphop
guys used to trudge through the rain and snow to buy records and their local shops..
I know it's impossible right now but one can only dream.

  • There's a few ways to grab youtube samples.
    *Anytune
    *BeatTime
    *Goodreader

Are just 3 apps that come to mind. They'll skin the audio from any youtube video you choose.
Google the app name with Youtube and you'll probably see some threads.

  • Wow. Awesome thanks.

  • No worries. It's not real-time sampling, but you can import what you rip to any number of Apps (Audioshare...etc) and play back through Audiobus and effect apps.

  • GoodReader will? That app never ceases to amaze me :)

  • @dwarman hmm, I may be a bit mislead there actually. I think Goodreader can download the complete video using a Safari bookmark let, but not isolate the audio like the other two apps. My bad, sorry.

I use tube downloader to grab video, then a choice of tons of apps to skin that audio.
Or Anytune if I hadn't needed the video at all.

  • If you have a third party browser app (like iCab Mobile) or a file manager app with a built-in browser (like GoodReader or Documents 5), you can use the following site to download videos from a variety of sites:

    http://en.savefrom.net/

Then you can open the file in AudioShare and clip what you want from the waveform.

This is how I've done it in the past.

  • Yep, anytune works well. I also got the good reader but the interface doesn't agree with me
