Studiomux + Ipad + Logic=?

Hello everyone. Tell me-I want to use studiomux for effects in Logic pro (Blackhole and others). Does it work with ios 15? It seems that the update was 4 months ago at studiomux.

Yes, it works. You might need help with figuring out the setup, but it works.

But - you want to do round-trip? Audio out of Logic to the iPad through FX then back to Logic? There's gonna be some latency to deal with.

Have you succeeded in using the current version in Logic? There have been a number of reports with people having trouble in Logic

Thank you very much. Yes-there and back. I found some videos about it. Setup via bus. I'll try to figure it out. If anything, I will ask for help🙂

Oops. No. I don't have Logic.
Tested with FL Studio, and Ableton Live. I just assumed it would work OK with Logic.

I haven't tried Studiomux yet. But I'm trying to establish interaction through Audiobus. There are problems with the synchronization of some plugins (for example, Synth one crashes) and Logic freezes if you do not follow the connection chain. I have not yet fully figured out how to make it work without failures until the end.

😉🙂We will conduct tests. In any case, it's interesting - will it work or not🙂

  • It worked the last time I tried with the latest iOS. As wim said, the initial setup is a bit hit and miss but once you work out the right order to load things then it is pretty reliable. Off the top of my head:

    • connect iPad + Mac via USB
    • load SM on the Mac and the iPad
    • load whatever iOS apps you are going to use into SM
    • Start Logic
    • Add SM plugin to FX chain of Logic track
    • IMPORTANT PART: on my system I would get horrible noise if I tried to load the plugin into a mono track, such as a guitar input. To avoid this, for mono inputs I needed to add a Gain plugin and use it to convert the signal to stereo, THEN add the SM plugin.
    • I seem to recall needing to also make sure IDAM was not running.

Thanks. I will try. Then I will unsubscribe about the results🙂

Personally I've had much better luck not hosting FX in StudioMux, but instead hosting them in AUM and AUM in StudioMux. The setup is more complicated, but for me has been much more reliable.

And the SMux host app hasn’t implemented Ableton link reliably. Link is transmitted fine to AUM using Studiomux but the SMux host app is buggy in this regard
