Peavey ReValver Amp Simulator impressions? Worth it?
Sorry, not iOS related but it's on sale today for 30 bucks. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid
I don't have much amp simulator experience outside of a Pod in a studio I worked out over a decade ago and Jam Up on iOS. Can anyone tell me how this compares to Jam Up? Looks like it's the grandfather to Bias in a way (which I don't own) in that you can completely customize the way the amps are built from the inside.
I don't use the computer all that often but was thinking that for $30 it might be worth it to free up my iPad for other tasks. Any experiences appreciated.

No personal experience, but I do know it is pretty highly regarded compared to other amp sim VSTs.
Indeed, great reviews here: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ReValverMK3/reviews
Alas it looks like it's a 32bit plugin and Logic Pro X only supports 64bit. I don't have LPX yet but will eventually and this would suddenly be useless.
The newest version IS 64 bit, and that deal comes with a free upgrade.

I bought revalver waaaaay back in 2001 when amp sims were a new novelty to play with and I thought it was awesome.
@zymos from what I understand, it's only 64 bit on Windows. Next version of the app will be 64 bit mac.
I owned revalver before Peavey bought it and f*4&ed over all the original purchaser. So I will never buy it again. But its pretty good for an amp sim, the peavey amps are pretty convincing with the right impulses.
A year ago I tried peavy , amplitude ,guitar rig, th2 overloud but I realized that none of them was suitable for generic usage. Every app had some convincing compos so I gave up and went for freeware guitar amps and impulses. Here is a nice video
So did you end up getting it, @syrupcore?
Nope. I don't use the computer enough to justify buying something that was going to be end of lifed as soon as I upgrade Logic.
