Looking for AUv3 chord sequencer (already tried ChordBud2)
I'm looking for an app to sequence chords. ChordBud2 works; I'm just looking for a different interface.
Comments
Any midi sequencer with ChordPolyPad works extremely well. ChordPolyPad doesn’t have its own sequencer but you can set up to 128 pads (chords) that can be triggered with any midi note sequencer. The pads are extensively customizable per pad.
Art kerns has a sequencer that can do chords and singular notes
I really love ChordJam from AudioModern.
ScaleBud/Tonality into Rozeta Cells is my current chord sequencing setup. I know it’s not ideal to suggest a multi-app route but thought it worth mentioning.
It’s actually interesting how’s limited the options are… there’s a few Mozaic scripts that sequence chords, Chordjam, and Navichord but that’s IAA.
@Poppadocrock fwiw ChordJam is auv3. I use it all the time in Drambo, AUM and LoopyPro on the iPad and in BitWig and Ableton on the desktop.
I heard that Scaler was coming to iPad @CapnWillie should be cool.
Its a shame that mixedInKey threw in the towel. CaptChords is nice.
Latest info from the Scaler guys is they’re aiming for end February release for iPad version…
Suggester can do that

Guess what? Drambo does it! Hold down a few keyboard keys, and tap a step on the sequencer.
Or better yet, hold down a single key and use the Chord module to play your Chord 😜
In AUM I can load Suggester to pick chords in a key (or outside a key), and send it to an sequencer or synth.
And also in AUM, Tonality has a Chord Pad function, I haven't used that one yet.
And inside LK there is a Chorder section, but I have no clue (yet) how I can set a root note, and scale. It just shows a few rows with chords. The interface for me is weird, compared to other scale and chord apps.
I have some other stuff like Chordmaps2, Navichord, but these don't show up in AUM as an Audio unit (midi processor)
There is also Fugee Machine as a AUM midi processor for sequencing, could be used to send chords, you have to enter them manually, so that one doesn't count.
Agreed. I love LK and use it for a multitude of things now and then, but the Chorder section is nigh on user-hostile. Absolutely not intuitive.
That's really good news! I use Scaler a lot on macOS, it's one of a kind
Whaaaat?!
Yeah. It’s just like the OctaTracks Chord functionality. You specify the type of chord to be played: 3.5.7 etc.
I never used the Octatrack chord feature much, as there was too much knob twisting compared to just hitting keys. Also, now I have a Launchpad Pro that has a great chord mode.
But I’m totally going to check it out in Drambo.
Strummer fits this description, doesn't it? That's a good one
Just to be sure. Is it possible to change the grid to the normal view? Not sure why it is upside down by default. It sort of says that in the description but I'd like to be sure as I couldn't work with it the way it's shown in the app store.
Thank you for all these suggestions — I will look at Chordjam and Strummer (which I have, but forgot about the chord sequencer).
Great to know.
A vote for Suggester. Constantly being improved upon as well
I missed that one: thank you. Looks like it might be the best one so far.
I use Tonality Chord Pads all the time! The diatonic chording in Gadget is useful as well. I never see it mentioned here, but Polyplayground is one of my favorites!
Yes, the view in Strummer can be flipped.
Awesome, thank you.
