Korg Gadget in Apematrix [solved]
I am trying to figure out how to make Korg Gadget start playing in Apematrix when I hit the play button of Ape. So that Gadget will be the Slave so to speak. For the love of God, I can’t seem to find how to do that. When I hit ‘play’ in Gadget I can hear it in Apematrix, but play and pause in Ape does not make Gadget start or stop. What’s the trick here?

yeh, I'm stumped on that one. I'm pretty sure it used to work. I even tried mapping midi CC's to the transport controls and sending those on ape matrix start and stop. They are received and midi learn OK, but nothing happens.
apeMatrix supports Link (chain icon, lower left). Does Gadget do Link? Maybe you could use that?
I don’t have Apematrix but Gadget syncs fine for me with other app.
Did you set MIDI sync to Ext or Auto in Gadget settings?
Not that I know of, only Ableton, I tried everything, switched Ableton link both in Ape and Gadget, nothing.
Yes, tried it all. There are not much options, maybe I am overlooking something here..
So Gadget in Ape’s input, it’s connected, what are the options to try?
It works for me 😀
Help me out please, what are your settings in Ape and Gadget?
Gadget doesn't support Link Start/Stop.
I'm pretty sure it used to start and stop from midi clock, but it just isn't working any more. Maybe from external hardware (I haven't tried) but not from other apps as far as I can tell.
I gave it about an hour of trying. Nothing that I thought used to work seems to. It doesn't even appear to respond to Audiobus' global start/stop like it used to. If I had more time I'd do more thorough testing, so it could well be that I just didn't find the magic combination.
It's a bit ridiculous that Gadget doesn't support Link Start/Stop after all this time. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
If I set
It works! And I must have tried this a couple of times.. but when I hit play it’s silent for a sec when the upper bar moves the 4 rows and then it starts playing. Wonderful, thank you all for your time and help!
Strange. I did all that multiple times with no luck.
Glad it works - but not curious enough to go back and figure out why it didn't work for me.
Same here, I hope it still works in the morning
