Drum Computer inside BM3 - sequencer

Hi, I am an absolute noob to this, have searched for this topic and can't find the answer.

Does anyone know how, if it is even possible, to get the patterns from Drum Computer, to appear in the Piano Roll in BM3?

Also is it possible to export each drum sound/track from the DC sequencer to separate tracks in BM3?

Thanks!

BM3 doesn't record midi output from AU apps into the piano roll. It's only possible by using some tricks to send the midi out from BM3 and back in to a different bank or pad. One way is to use Midi Route from the Midi Tools suite. There are a couple of posts over on the Intua forum I can try to find if you want to go that way.

However it's probably easier just to export the number of bars of midi you want then import to BM3:

    • Set the number of bars you want to export in the little box at the top-right then select to export MIDI. When the share-sheet pops up, look for BeatMaker 3 in the list of apps in the second row. You may need to hit the "..." to bring up more apps.
    • A popup message will tell you default.mid is available in the imports folder.
    • Bring up the BM3 song view, then tap the "hamburger" menu at the top-left, then the file folder to bring up the files list. Open the Imports folder, find default.mid, and drag it onto the timeline.

Unfortunately you would need to solo each one and export one at a time.

BTW, there's an active BM3 Discord where you can probably get some more immediate help. Forget the BM3 forum, it's a ghost town.
