@Ailerom to not further escalate this, I will restrict myself to this:

    @Ailerom wrote:

Like the way you judged the developer in that their pricing was not appropriate. Many people disagree with that and to me it seems an unfair thing to put on the developer.

I never ever wrote or meant that!

I only wrote, that I would buy the whole set of AUv3 Apps if there was some sort of bundle - either bundled with the older IAA Apps or just for the whole set of new Apps.

I cannot see any problem with that - but you are creating one out of thin air and were using names.

"I would buy it if" it met your stated criteria. Ok I'm a little off on that one and I see your point. Not really saying it is an inappropriate pricing. Just that for you it was not appropriate. You decided, based on your own needs, what pricing model you would like them to provide. Not really how things work though is it.

I'm not creating anything out of thin air any more than the idea that all thought may well come from somewhere unknown, including thin air which would then apply to all human statements and thought coming from thin air. What I said was based on who I am, my life experience and personal values. So basically, I ran your spiels though the old Ailerom filter and it came out with a report stating "that's ridiculous".

I would instantly buy such a bundle - regardless if I ever use any of the Apps!
    To support the developer...

But I will simply not buy the 4 AU Apps for about 22 euro (4+7+6+5 euro) without a nice bundle.
Simply because I will not use them.
I rarely use such plugins at all and most of the time reach for FabFilter.

Actually, I stand corrected. I think I see your angle now. I fully support what you are saying.

Albeit, with minor variation. I really really want to buy these to support the developer. But, I will absolutely never use them and will delete them immediately after purchase. There is no way I'm paying 22euro for that. It just wouldn't be fair to me, having to pay that much for something I don't want. If you could create a bundle at a reduced price of 12euro that is about the support price I am willing to pay for something I won't use. And as a bonus, I think other users will buy the bundle as well so it's a win win situation.

The only fair way to go about this is a subscription bundle. You pay a monthly or yearly subscription, but you need to download and uninstall the apps at least once per subscription period or you won’t get charged. This ensures the developer can continue to improve the apps while freeing you of the burden of having to use them. Everyone wins.

But what if someone downloads it, uses it briefly and then uninstalls it. Will I pay the same as them? I'm happy to subscribe for something I have no intention of using but there should be separate prices depending on your estimated use of the plugins.

Good point. This is going to require a dongle of some sort. No worries, I’m sure we can get the iLok folks to help us out.

I have a feeling that characteristic dry wit of yours flew right past without stopping off to say hi. And yeah let's call the iLok folk or maybe Steinberg will let the dev use eLicenser now they've put it out to pasture. :)

  • Please calm down folks.. :)

A bundle for the four AU3FX is currently waiting for Apple approval. It will be priced $16.99 so in effect giving you the cheapest plugin for free.

Nice. I hope you submitted a manual with that… 😉

  • Or just a screenshot of the conversation above :D

I think there's only one person who even mentioned the need for a bundle.

While reaching for my first "Ignore" in this forum, I nearly hit the wrong button 😅😅😅

That's a good way to go in life. If you can't handle it, ignore it. It won't make you stronger but your bubble will be solid as a rock. ;)

….so returning to the merits of the app itself, I’m super excited to see PeakQ go AUv3. For me it makes it very easy to get a very clear natural sounding EQ. Some of the others bog me down with an abundance of controls and tweaks. I think the clean simplicity of the AU3FX series is its strength, much like AUM. Measured but deep. Light but heavy. I guess I’m a Liljedahlist.

I have to agree. I don't know why, but I'm able to more quickly dial in the results that I wan't with Peak Q than most other EQs.

+1 can usually get it done with AU3FX and if not there’s other choices but I don’t often have to go that way.

  • I've been using it a lot and it is just an easy app to use because the UI is so well done. And I love the analyser. Only thing I'd really like to have is ( @j_liljedahl ) simultaneous pre and post analyser.

That should be doable! It would use some more CPU in that mode naturally.

A bundle was planned already! And not all users are on this forum ;)

Yep, I just meant in this thread. But as you said, time to move on. Really nice eq and well worth the purchase.
