Samson Graphite 49 Editor
Anyone else run into this: I wanted to create a new preset that was fairly similar to an existing preset I had made (#17). I used their Mac program to pull it up so that I could edit it and save it as a new preset. Did all of my edits, saved the file to my computer as a back up. Changed the Graphite to the preset slot I wanted (#21 in this case) and hit Download (aka send to keyboard, oddly). Yay!
But, it didn't save it to slot #21, it saved it to slot #17. BOO. It seems as though the preset number is a part of the file that got transferred to the software initially and no amount of futzing will change it. Happily, I have #17 backed up otherwise I would be crying.
Anyone have the same problem and get around it? cc @dwarman.

They have a Mac editor? So far I've found the LCD to do what I need, so I haven't looked into that. Does it let you name the patches?

Patch names: Sadly, no. The editor doesn't really help all that much; I'm not confident the editor is any faster than doing it manually. Plusses: backing up patches, not having to save after every control edit (ugh!), and seeing all of control assignments at once. Well, where 'seeing all' == bank at a time. Which is silly. Striping and bulk edits would be smashing.
I wonder if their Sysex sec is available? ANy way I'll be checking these out. Thx.
