And the keys feel so nice. Glad I went for arturia. I see many hours of fun in my horizon

Was hoping to see that. The Minilab 2 has the same keys as the Keystep pro so the quality is the best you can get for the price, imo.

Yeah they are small (of course, the thing is like an A4 sheet size, plus a couple of inches wide) but have a great response. I might be in love

If my Reface CS didn’t have such a great keybed, that’s the first thing I’d get. But right now between that and a Bluetooth midi controller I’m pretty much set.

Has anyone used the Nektar Impact LX Mini with an ipad? I like the layout and look of this controller and the bitwig integration is another plus, so am thinking of getting it.

Its class compliant and ipad compatibility with a cck is mentioned on their website, but can't find any info on whether it can be powered by a lightning ipad.

Another option is the m-audio oxygen pro mini 32, which with similar dimensions (though significantly thicker) has those extra keys, besides some faders and midi out. But I already have a komplete kontrol m32 so don't really need another one with 32 keys. Also this one is not currently locally available and I'm guessing is not ipad powered, in which case I could just go for the launchkey mini mk3 which is available, smaller and cheaper and has midi out as well, besides also having a bitwig script.

  • It's hard to discern the important differences between the Nektar Impact LX Mini and the Nektar Impact LX25+. Obviously the Mini is smaller and has a joystick in place of the PB and Mod wheels. The LX25+ has an iPad port on the back which is a plus, but it's larger and heavier so less portable. Comparing them that seems to be the only major differences. Same price. Can anyone comment on this? I think these are the ones I would choose mainly because of the excellent DAW integration. I have a Panorama P1 and really respect the quality of it.

I used to own a panorama P1 and was a bit disappointed with the lack of updates for cubase. It worked but not seamlessly and while it worked well with bitwig, I already had other controllers for that so sold it.

But yea nektar daw integration does tend to go deeper than most others. I wasn't aware of the similarities between the LX+ range and the mini so will check out that documentation. Think I will probably get it anyway regardless of whether or not the ipad powers it. Still would be nice to know before buying it though.

EDIT: Sorted, it does indeed have a low-power mode like the lx25+
