I don’t get it. If you’ve had enough then leave. No need for account deletion.
There are forums that I don’t visit from one year to the next but ever so often will pop in for information etc…
My thoughts. The only reason to delete an account is to remove the temptation. IMO, it has to be more about the member than the forum itself. In a sense, I understand. If you look for more time to work on projects, you have to remove all "bad" temptation. These days, I spent too much time on non-constructive things, like spending 3-4 hours on mindless watching video on YouTube.
Yes, I also don't really get it. It's just about worthless to say that the same content can be found on my youtube channel. I do searches and read old posts on ABF all the time. The content here is integrated into the context of a discussion, where it makes sense and is helpful to people. The same info on a youtube channel, not so much.
Is there no option to delete an account (i.e., show the author as deleted) while retaining the content of the posts?
The last member who ask for an account deletion recreate an account a couple of weeks after
@flo26 - Thank you for all the wonderful comments and videos you shared here. You're musicianship is inspiring.
I will continue to follow your Youtube channel and comment there.
Well...
damn.
Thank you for sharing your talent
and may fortune shine for you.
And maybe reconsider after awhile?
Please @flo26 and @Michael, don't delete the content so the communication with other forum members can still be read.
When deleting an account, there's always the choice to not delete posts and it would be a slap in the face of other forum members to delete all posts as well.
Thanks for considering!
This is not directed at you, Florent, and, of course, everyone has the right to come and go as they please.
I assiduously avoided social media until I had an informational need about iOS and found ABF. All my questions were answered with great generosity. At the time I was living in Istanbul had no friends and couldn’t speak the language. ABF became my haven for social interaction as I discovered the beautiful vibe here. Lol, now back in the US I don’t want any “real” friends anymore, but that’s another story. Still, in my almost four yr iPad journey I have made quite a few wonderful “virtual” friends who seem very real to me and add meaning to my life. I’ve shared a lot of personal stuff with them and vice versa.
If I left the forum, for me, personally, it would be like saying I don’t want to be friends anymore. That would be tough to do. As an aside, I would not want my posts or remarks deleted. It doesn’t seem right to me as my remarks or posts were not in a vacuum. They always involved interactions with other members and their thoughts and feelings. By removing my half of the conversation I would be obviating theirs as well. That doesn’t work for me, but it's a personal choice.
I have felt the distance on other fora like PianoWorld. I know this is a unique society. Maybe I am having a unique experience in a unique environment. Whatever the case I feel very fortunate, and I’m glad I have no intention of leaving… voluntarily 😉😎🙏
I will back this up.
It’s important that we take time out to consider our decisions.
We may have an argument or disagreement for some reason and
for some it may seem trivial and for some it could well be a huge issue.
Saying this, deleting our content does affect the other members on any forum.
I should know.
I left a forum and deleted my content and I regret few things and that I did regret.
@flo26 I’m not implying in anyway that anger or being upset
is the basis for your decision to leave the forum.
Delete the account by all means but leave the content,
it’s valuable for others even though we may not think it is.
You provide a really good insight into guitar playing
and it’s inspiring for other guitarists to explore
what the iOS platform can provide for them.
🙏🏾
Please,it’s just a guy leaving a forum.
You’ll find everything you need on the internet.
Thanks for your support.
Oh and please, can we talk about something else😉😉?
Damn... I would hate to see all those @flo26 threads branded with [DELETED USER].
It's much better to just try and tune out but leave those pointers to your work on Youtube as searchable content by the search term "@flo26" or the profile view.
I've never searched for [DELETED USER]. But there's a good discussion here with input from [DELETED USER] themselves:
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/37667/why-so-many-deleted-forum-users
It would appear that flo’s mind is well and truly made up. Perhaps we should just respect that and move on.
The missing content will definitely be a shame but flo knows what people think.
Nothing is forever. Bon voyage @flo26 — at least you now know you’ll be missed.
If and when I go it’ll be by stealth — and nobody will even notice I’m not here anymore 🤣
Respectfully, it sort of doesn't involve you anymore? lol
Good luck where you're headed.
I’m sure whoever comes to this decision have already considered other means and yet...
Keep playing, keep rocking... and if you feel like it, you know where to find us
Thx for your contribution!
I did not want to take anyone by surprise.
That’s why i’ve made the announcement.
I’m still waiting @michael’s answer.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot!
Thanks everyone!
I think it would be best if @micheal changes the password so the account is intact but @flo26 knows he would need to ask for access. He could even ask on the Youtube channel and it could be a decision that's reversible. Unless [DELETE USER] accounts can also be reactivated.
Here's Florent's Youtube channel link. He has 423 subscribers. Please consider pumping up his stats with a simple "subscribe" button press. It matters to content creators.

Thanks a lot for this!
Much,much appreciated!
Flo
Why does the account have to be deleted? Can't you just stop using it?
Good call.

Why can't i😉?
Nice.
I don’t think so mate. 😁
😊 — unless you mean ‘thank god he’s gone!’
🤣
🤣
Dang @flo26 you’re our resident guitar sound expert. Why delete, just don’t visit as often… it’s not Google activity, but that’s totally you’re decision, and I respect it. I’m sure many will miss you, including myself. thank you for all you’re valuable input, and those great ears of yours, lol. Cheers mate.
That’s what I was attempting to say, but to each their own.
