I made a midi merger

Needed a midi merger for my Circuit Tracks and had an Arduino Mega laying about

It’s a 2 in 1 out midi merger.

    :+1: :)

I've almost built one myself until I found the MIDI merger called iOS Bluetooth MIDI.

  • This looks sweet, well done.

How do you set that up?

You just connect multiple BT MIDI devices.
What doesn't work with USB MIDI is no problem over Bluetooth.

The rub is in what you mean by "connect" devices. Obviously, with BT there's no physical cable. The connection isn't created automatically, even if you have Bluetooth enabled in iPad and the controller device. You need to initiate the connection somewhere in the iPad, e.g., in AUM's settings for Bluetooth MIDI. Once created in one app (e.g., AUM) the connection will be visible in other apps too. You can also use something like Korg's BT Connect utility, which does nothing other than create the connection, which will then be visible in all your apps: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bluetooth-midi-connect/id1108321791

  • @hes That wasn't my point. The point is that you can only attach one MIDI interface over USB while Bluetooth allows more than one and all input data will be merged.

I tried this. I have 3 midi bluetooth dongles. Works great in AUM.
