Loopy Pro - drum machine templates anyone?

So has anyone got a Loopy Pro template focused just on making a good drum machine?

I'm thinking sometime like a 909, and I'll use an Akai MPD218 to hit the pads and tweak the parameters.

Thanks,
Joe

  • You could build one in Loopy, but why? Just use an app like Koala inside of Loopy and save some time.

  • Can you make templates in loopy pro?

Not formally. But, when I have something I want to use as a template, I save a a copy and clear it’s tracks and use it as a starting point.

As the loopy pro voice of knowledge @espiegel123 stated. Spend sometime building a great layout and then just name it …..template, rinse and repeat
I have made about 5 templates for running on my phone and more for my iPad Pro. Sure it takes a bit of time, but once it’s done, you are golden
And you can share ya template between devices via airdrop
And remember you can select chunks of a project, copy it , then add it to a new project or add it to an old project

  • Here is one drum machine patch that I created with sounds made in Drambo: https://www.dropbox.com/s/81mlj8oucz8pusp/[drum machine].zip?dl=0
It’s a classic 4x4 layout and you can easily replace samples with your own.

@joegrant413 - it would take you less time to make your own customized to your needs than to download, explore, and tweak someone else's. It's truly not difficult or necessarily time consuming unless you get distracted with a bunch of bells and whistles.

All you need is to understand one-shots, and slicer grids and midi mapping (which you'll need to understand in any case). It's worth taking the time to mess with it on your own even if you end up using someone else's layout in the end.

  • Thanks!

I have loopy pro, aum, drambo, koala, so I can take a peek at what has been cooked up.
