Auria Pro glitch, (SOLVED) (thanks for the help, comrades)
I reinstalled Auria, with the usual high hopes, loaded it up with the extra presets for Twin 2, and a nice EXS piano I have, and got sad day 2
I added a midi track, in a mostly audio clips project, Put Twin 2, and when i touched the FX button the app crashed and keeps crashing.
Any wisdom?
Comments
No. I can offer the opposite of wisdom. :-/
But that sums up my experience with Auria Pro. Anything to do with MIDI is half-arsed at best.
I haven’t reinstalled it for a while though. Last time I lasted 15 mins before crashes made me delete it again.
It would appear from other people’ experiences that it is much better when you’re using it for 100% audio.
But man. MIDI in auria pro is abysmal.
What OS version are you running? Any idea what FX was loaded on the track you were loading?
Have you tried restoring a snapshot? That usually fixes the problem when the app won’t load.
If you load a project in Auria that previously crashed it should give you the option to load an older snapshot of that project, and this normally fixes whatever the issue that caused a specific project to become corrupted.
Since restoring a snapshot often doesn't work, see: https://wiki.audiob.us/doku.php?id=auria_pro_-_recovering_projects
@espiegel123
I didnt get to pick one, touching the FX button killed the software instantly.
I’m only as far as the last 14, holding onto that to save deprecated apps…hopefully that’s not the problem.
@richardyot
Tried loading early and later snapshots (boy there’s a lot of them!)
No luck
Thanks everyone for your ideas
So, you are touching the FX button on a track that has no effects?
Yep, trying to add an effect to a (midi) track that has no effect already. It’s the only midi track in a project where the rest of the tracks are audio. There is no issue adding effects to the audio tracks.
EDIT: tried something weird that worked. The midi track with the FX button that crashed the app was the last track, at the bottom of the track view. I moved the midi track up from the bottom (made one of the audio tracks take the bottom position).
Now the FX button on the midi track takes me where it should, and doesn’t crash the app. Also there is no problem adding FX to the audio track that is in the bottom position.
Weird but true. Now AP and me can be friends again…
Thanks for the help!
