@Erik_Beatsurfing
quick question. the subdivision bar at the top.
what is it quantizing? I don’t seem to notice much of a difference when i change it. is it quantizing taps, or is that the division the grid is setup too?
@Erik_Beatsurfing technical question... Why did you settle with Juice as a framework? Legacy code? Technical limitations? Great documentation?
thanks
@Erik_Beatsurfing Confirmed: the recordings are there. One thing I noticed: Multi-Track makes recording also for the instruments that have not been used. I understand it could be tricky to make otherwise (and also that in some cases even empty files could be useful)
The quantize on top is the global one. So you can set all your instruments to Global in their faceplate, and use that global one. Certain instruments can have their own quantized settings as well, for example, the "Chilled hat" has 2 different sets of quantization, to give it an interesting roll effect. Check that out here.
The biggest reason for using JUCE was the ease of making a cross-platform audio software. In our last app playground, we discovered what an issue creating an android app (which never ended up happening) would be. As we plan to release iPad, iPhone, Android, and desktop, this was a big reason.
Yep for the moment, it will record a file for any instrument in the play area. We are working on tuning the recording engine in general and adding in a looper function that will loop your gestures. But for now, we simply assume if it's in the play area, it may be recorded, even if only one hit.
@Ailerom Can you update to today's release and let me know if you are having crash issues. We seem to have fixed two major crashes. I am hoping it was your issue. If not let's hop on an email so we can squash that bug.

The in-app purchase is working now. Again a big thanks for all your suggestions and feedback, it's been a MASSIVE help.
Also if you have any things you would like to see, the best way to let the devs know is to email [email protected]. Anything sent there will create a ticket for them to review.
I might try later. When I realised the purchase button still isn't working I figured I'd forget about it for a month to see if the issues get sorted and try again.
at first the new update didn’t work, so i deleted it of my ipad completely re-downloaded beatsurfer2. It worked, and i was able to purchase. I can’t wait to get home from work and really dig into it.
Where is the purchase button?
Ok a fresh install appears to clear the purchase unlock.
try to open a locked instrument on the r/h side, and it will pop up a purchase menu
Got it, thanks!
This is actually a really cool app with high quality drum instruments. Yes it needs to be fleshed out with AUv3, multi out and access to the files menu for import and export imo - but i bought the IAP and think it’s way worth it just on the quality of samples alone. Not to mention the interface is really cool. Gonna go be a little inspired now and look forward to updates and new instruments in this app.
so looking at the app store it looks literally exactly like the loopy pro model subscription? where is everyone thinking its different somehow?
in the app desc. "A one-time In-App purchase to unlock permanently and keep forever all the current features and instruments available and all the future ones added in the following 12 months"

Are you perhaps reading posts from before this model was implemented? The Loopy Pro model was announced mid-way through the thread.
ah yes i didnt even look at the posting dates. my bad
This is (was?) on offer today at I think half price so I took a punt. I’m probably not the target market for the app as I’m mainly into more traditional composition of music but I do like what I see on first impressions. Lots of different ‘instrument’ modules, which do different things such as MIDI out, drums, e.t.c. Also a mini sampler which lets you load your own samples and tweak them for performance.
I like the feel of this as an instrument and can see it being a fluid way of coming up with ideas. I wonder how easy it would be to play two of these at the same time on different iPads.
Even in its current form it was worth the purchase price for me and it looks like there are plans for updates. Good also to see another app adopt the Loopyesque pricing model. I hope this does well.
Wish I bought for £14.99 as havent used yet. Just havent got around to collecting samples.
Picked it up in the sale today looks and sounds pretty neat had 1 hang screen using it. Got to spend a bit of time learning all the ins and outs but worth a punt at the sale price. Not sure when there update cycle started think it was around February time hope the updates are regular and AU makes it in this yearly cycle.
How do you unlock this thing? I may need more coffee or better glasses, but I just can't find the link to the iap purchase in the app 😶
help out a member in distress here, thank you good people
Buy an instrument that’s locked.
Buy a instrument that’s locked you do need to give a email address.
No, not to unlock, but you may eventually need to give one, I’m not sure.
Needs to host in Drambo. Although I can send audio via iconnect audio 4c to Drambo. The app is having to make me choose or re-think how I route all other hosts.
Very tempted by this one. Started playing around with the free version last night and forgot how fun it was. Playground was a super fun app as well. Just not too sure how much I’d use it until it gets AUV3 support. You can upload your own files correct? For samples?
Also needs host support. Cant be sure but when routing audio out to another ipad. This app needs to output on ch 1 and 2. Another host custom ch 3 and 4 etc. So stereo outputs to aum on other ipad. I think this app needs to be opened first otherwise theres crackles but Id need to open at any point. As to keep other hosts open. If this is the cause but will check other causes.
Yeah, search this page for “sampler” and you’ll see all of the available sample instrument/modules that you can load: https://www.beatsurfing.com/catalog/
Now with a looper I am thinking I’ll purchase? Still no iaa? Can I not use BS in AUM?
sick!!
