Send Sysex file
Is there a simple way to just send a .syx file (SysEx) I've written out from my iPad and interface?
I have a bit of hardware that needs a .syx parameter change when I turn it on and I'd like to do it from an iPad rather than my computer. Right now looking at Midi Tool Box, which I'll pick up if necessary, but was wondering if there was another way to do it with something I might already have, or something that is free, since this is such a basic task.

Do you have mozaic? Would only take a few lines.
How long is the sysex message ? Maybe I can help you using MobMuplat app (via pure data) , there is also PdParty ,but I don't know how to use the GUI
No but I'd pick it up if it'll work. Right now reading about StreamByter and Mozaic, trying to figure out which would be easier.
Very short. It's just 10 bytes. I might want to send other short little messages too though. It's just for changing some parameters on a hardware synth that are not adjustable via buttons.
If there are few , ok , I can help you with puredata for a basic patch , maybe post a sysex message to make a test file
both streambyter and mozaic will do it. mozaic seems to have more support around here if you gonna start using it for more stuff than just sysex patches.
delete!
Thank you for your help everybody. I was able to do it pretty simply with Streambyter, which was free.
Routed correctly in AUM, then just typed
snd F0 (the rest of the sysex message) F7
Clicked install rules, and it worked.
Great. I've done some of this, sending SysEx to ES Eurorack modules. You should be aware of the 16-byte message length limitation in SB. You can send longer messages in multiple steps, but they don't necessarily reach the receiver as a single message. It seemed like running SB in AUM, and routing the MIDI to a virtual MIDI port, worked. But other configurations did not, sometimes causing hardware unhappiness. If you will need SysEx messages longer than 16 bytes, Mozaic is a more reliable solution, with no inherent length limitation.
This is another nice win for owning an X-Station.
Any one of the numerous knobs, buttons or faders can be set to send up to a 20 byte Sysex message. All easily configurable on the device itself:
I realise this doesn’t help the OP’s scenario, but always worth mentioning where the X-Station is handy. Brilliant things!
Still the best and most underrated controller. Really wish new skool novation would take a couple cues from old skool novation...
theres a really great deal on reverb now for anyone interested....
(LOOOL!)
Wow. Which country’s dollar? Crazy prices!
Thats US. And those prices are just laughable....concidering the next cheapest 61 key is like 325ish
But a lot of reverb resellers don't know what planet they live on
