Managing live gig with Audiobus

Does anyone use audiobus for playing? If yes, how do you organize your song settings? I want to combine Amp from bias, some effects from nembrini and reverbs from Eventide or TB Reverb... Not each songs needs all effects, and even the effects need different settings... What would you suggest? I bought so many fantastic apps, better than having a Helix, but I dont find a way to organize them, like building a patch in a single app.

  • You can save an Audiobus preset for each setup. That will include settings for all the AUv3 apps, and any IAA apps that support Audiobus state saving. Such apps usually mention Audiobus in their AppStore descriptions. If you have a MIDI controller, you can configure events to load a preset, and to navigate (next, prev) the presets. This requires the MIDI Learn IAP.

  • According to the Compatible Apps page, Bias FX doesn't have state saving, but Bias Pedal and Bias Amp 2 (iPad and iPhone) do.

  • Thank you. I never realised AU setting are stored.

  • Audiobus is divine live and you can start presets using midi messages so the screen can be used mostly for playing.

GB can connect to audio outputs generated by Audiobus (External, IAA Apps). But you can load AUv3 apps and FX in GB, so hardly necessary.

If you want to just use Audiobus (without GB), it can connect to IAAs like Thumbjam. You won't be able to use GB built-in instruments/drummers though.

Could you describe in more detail exactly what you are trying to do, and what problem you are having?

  • So audiobus can’t run drummer as a backtrack in live or I can use GarageBand separate But with another apps it can sync . Can audiobut sync with lumbeat apps and record in GarageBand with audiobus ……..

There's a lot of discussion about the lumbeat apps in this forum. They are notoriously difficult to use with other apps. Try a search to find out what they can and cannot do.

Are you interested in live performance or recording in GarageBand? GarageBand adds its own set of limitations in terms of what is possible.

  • Thanks 🙏 🌹 uncle Dave so nice of you and helpful ……. God bless you .🙏🎼🎶🎸🎵

I disagree that LUMBEATS are notoriously difficult to use/sync. A lot of that reputation is based an a long-standing (but now solved) issue with the virtual midi in in the apps.

Another issue is that the apps used to allow you to trigger the notes. The feature was removed without notice or documentation which caused a lot of head scratching.

I have no idea about recording from Audiobus into GB though.
