I bought their desktop sampler that comes with Cosmos.
I don’t see why you couldn’t copy them to your IOS device. It’s a good idea.
@cyberheater I played with the idea of buying the sampler, but i thought: I got already a sampler with Bitwig and Live. Does this sampler add value to the existing ones?
It’s very easy to use and integrates well with Cosmos which makes for a fast workflow. It’s so cheap, why not?
Is there a way to view the subfolders in the sample folders we're uploading to Cosmos?
I have a Samples folder with a large number of sample packs in it. Uploading each individually to Cosmos is a time consumer, so I just uploaded the whole Samples folder.
You just add the folder to Cosmos. No need to upload anything
I got the sampler desktop plugin but Cosmos also works well with Live's Simpler, just drag the sample from the waveform display in Cosmos to Simpler.
Yes,
I'm adding a folder using the + in the Local Folders, but each small sample pack takes a few seconds to to a minute to load, so doing that hundreds of time seems tiring. It took me almost 2 days straight when I added the Samples folder you see in this screenshot which contains 100k's of samples until it finished loading. Hope that cleared my question.
It will take a while for the A.I. to go through all your samples and categorise them.
So, cosmos build a database with the location of the sample and attach metadata to it (genre, length, bpm etc.) if i'm right.
There are different ways to use such libraries on the iPad, one of my favorites is still KitMaker:
https://www.kit-maker.com/
So you find the parts for your kit in Cosmos or ADSR sample manager, put them into a folder and KitMaker converts it into a Kit for you. Works perfect for me.
Apart from that you can always just put the samples into a shared folder.
