  • This is not true though, at least not yet. I hope they will have a speedy accession, but you may want to correct the title.

  • If the world was a tv episode we definitely jumped the shark with this…

  • Highly unlikely that Ukraine will get into the EU any time soon. It would also REALLY rub Putin the wrong way, and perhaps result in even fiercer aggression. Definitely though, we've all been impressed with the bravery of the Ukrainian people. I wish them the best of luck in this fight against the new Hitler.

  • Look how long Turkey’s application has been sat waiting now. They applied in 1987!

No comparison, really (despite the fact you just made one :)). Completely different situation.

Now that pretty much the entire Eastern half of the EU is officially promoting Ukraine's candidacy, I think it will be rather difficult to shrug them off (again).

  • Except the western half of EU is insisting procedures be followed, because they aren’t happy about Poland and Hungary’s behaviour anyway.

  • Ukraine is no more. and people like you are guilty of this, by the way the big question is whether the EU will survive. But how can aquarium fish talk about this ...

Russian warship, go f#ck yourself (c)

  • Apparently, Georgia is about to apply as well
Erdogan not happy: "Show same ‘sensitivity’ for Ukraine to Turkey"

  • Georgia opposed the sanctions. didn't you know? No one needs war, but it is fomented by controlling it through the media. Putin agreed with Biden in order to lower the EU in terms of the economy, all capital will go to the United States to cover astronomical debts. and of course let the warship go to hell. but you will not remember anything in a month, you will be shown a new movie. and people will be dead. on both sides.

I can’t wrap my head around killing innocent civilians and even little children in the name of war

It's a typical Russian military strategy. It's basically a form of terrorism. Make life so miserable for ordinary people that they'll beg their govt to give in. It has worked very well for Russia in the past, in Chechnya, for example.

It's always "in the name of peace," which is even more mind boggling.

And yes, misguided leaders of my country (and others) are the hypocritical example setters for this asshole.

Fortunately it seems as though the majority of normal people have had enough of this bullshit. Maybe the politicians will finally start to get the message.

The big question is will Putin survive?

Not really. The big question is how far will he go to survive. The answer unfortunately is as far as he needs to.

True. Procedure needs to be followed. This is not an "except that" - it is part of the process. The EU is a law-based, bureaucratic organisation, and there is no way a country can become a member without due process. But that does not mean such a call by about 10 member states will not have weight, especially given the circumstances. But that's just my prediction, I don't claim to know what the future will bring.
