Chordpolypad as input for Rozetta cells using Audiobus or AUM

I like to input chords into the Rozetta cells sequencer but I'm not a keyboard player. Can I use the Chordpolypad app to input chords right in to cells and if possible how do I route this. I tried in AUM but I can't get it to work. (maybe it's not possible:))

looking forward to some tips or tricks..

Thanks a lot in advance.

Route your midi from Chordpolypad or any other chorder into Cells. In the bottom LEFT hand side of Cells press the RECORD button. Mash your chords and CELLS will auto advance, or you can pick a spot in Cells and mash a chord.

  • You should just be able to route the MIDI from Chordpolypad to Rozeta Cells in the AUM MIDI matrix. You need to enable Record in Cells. Have you tried it with the AUM keyboard?

Thanks for your reply, but can you please tell me how to route this? I prefer using AUM, do I need to make to separate MIDI channels for example?

I can record into cells with the keyboard, no problem. But as said I'm not a keyboard player and want to fire in chords into Cells.
Do I need to setup two different MIDI channels for this (one for Chordpolypad and one for Cells?)

    ThNKS IN ADVANCE.

You don't need to set up any MIDI channels. I just did this using Chord Pads (different app). The routing looks like this. MIDI Routing is the snake icon in the upper right on AUM. I just opened Chord Pads and Cells, stacked on the AUM screen, hit record and went ahead, as shown below. Maybe if you post some screenshots, we can see your problem.

Thanks for your answer, I got it running...

    Thanks for helping me out!

@AJFourier thanks for bringing this problem of yours to my attention. I totally forgot about cells and how easy it is to sequence chords in it. Now I can have a “linear” timeline and multiple sequences that I can chain or manipulate the timing of without actually sequencing notes on a piano roll.

Plus I can do transposition of the same chords using Brams Scaler.

BTW @AJFourier midi channels 1-16 are usually meant to keep midi signals flowing to a device of your choosing. Unless you have it set to OMNI or all channels each device listens to a user specified channel. AUM defaults to listen to ALL channels of MIDI that you route to each app (sound or midi) using its own matrix, so often choosing a channel is only required if an app specifically asks for that channel. Like some drum machines only broadcasting and receiving on midi channel 10.

This might be different in other Daw and daw like apps, as AUM is flexible in this manner (ape matrix as well)

  • Cells is really cool since you can send midi in to step record whatever in each cell.

It can move forward backward, ping pong and random I think, which adds to the sequencing options.
