Simplest way for AUM to control tempo via MIDI clock
In general, I find AUM has been the simplest way to connect a lot of things regarding MIDI. Now all I want to do is to use AUM to control the tempo and the MIDI clock signal I send to a couple of external hardware devices.
What’s the easiest way to do that? And I have found out I don’t just want to send one external device’s MIDI to the other since it is sending more than I want and over-complicating things.
Comments
Enable MIDI clock send in AUM (it’s in the three dots submenu of the tempo menu), and tell it where you want clock sending.
I’ll look again, thanks
Cool, I got it to work! From the AUM tempo menu I enabled the Send midi clock and then it showed the hardware to select.
The other thing is to remember to turn on the AUM transport by hitting play to start the clock. From there I could control the tempo of both pieces of hardware using the AUM tempo just like I wanted to.
Thanks
Glad you got it to work.
Thanks.
When I think of all the old iOS devices that many people have, the cost of AUM, and the cost of a USB hub, it's clear to me that many musicians have no idea how inexpensive and intuitive it would be to use this setup to connect their hardware MIDI devices.
