Did I miss a thread on the new - simply great - Koala update?
Can’t seem to find it?
Comments
Well I’m glad you created this thread cause I was waiting for those features as well!! Velocity for on screen keys, note repeat, mute/solo, etc. Very nice!
Velocity! I missed that one.
There’s a few cool new additions.
Thanks for the update.
Done 😂
Velocity! Awesome. No I didn’t know till now.
The biggest wish I have is to label pads.
The note repeat with velocity/quantized pitch is awesome. Something I missed from BM3
+1
Where is the solo/mute located? The update info says its available in ‘extras’ but I’ve gone to settings - extras and can’t see anything. And I can’t see it anywhere else.
It should be the first item on the list under extras
The next wish is for Koala to have a simple tuner to display when I am pitching samples.
Right - thanks. I was sure I had updated - by ‘press all’ - the net was cast, but missed Koala. It’s been caught now though. One of my most desired features 👍
Not wanting to be picky, it’s a great update. I would have liked to have the mute/solo on the sequencer page, or labels for the pads as @joegrant413 was saying. When the whole thing is full of samples it’s really hard to know what is where.
One tip is to be sure to keep holding down the new mute or solo button down while selecting the sample.
I also had to pay attention to how Koala is showing me which samples are active and which are not. The visual cues are there and it looks like it’s going to work just fine.
How to turn on velocity for display pads?
Do mean how to make koala's touch pads create notes of different velocities? or how to make its pads responsive to velocity of received midi?
to make it responsive to velocity or received midi notes, there is a setting in the MIDI settings. I don't believe the touch pads themselves can be made to have different velocities.
this can be implemented on the y-axis. like in the patterning 2 for example
