record audio from stereo to my iPhone using irig
how do you record audio from stereo to my iPhone using irig
Comments
Which iRig model do you have? Some have mono input only.
I don't have any at the moment but yes I would like record in stereo I thought I would ask before I buy Thanks for the reply
When I say Stereo I mean my Hi Fi System
What are you going to record? Their probably better interface then iRig for the task.
Well I want to record 45rpm Singles from my turntable through my amp to my iPhone What would be the best quality way to do it and the best thing to use Thanks { I haven't got a computer so I just put my iPhone near the speaker and use Voice Memo App. So I would like a better way of getting great sound quality without spending much really Thanks
The Zoom audio interfaces are high quality and pretty inexpensive.
If you only need it for that one purpose, this is one option:

You will also need a way to connect it to the iPhone however. What you use for that is dependent on which iPhone you have.
That looks Great Thanks I will look into it a lot further. So I may just need an apple white connector to the iPhone { Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adaptor Model A1619 MK0W2Z/MA } and to connect it to an output on my amp maybe ?? As I have an SE Second generation Phone

@SOULKATA - the USB 3 Camera adapter is what you need. Costs more than the interface, sadly. You might look at the UCA222 as well while you're at it. I don't know the differences other than that it is red, but I'm guessing there's something? It costs $3 more.
That said, if you're going to spend money an interface, you might want to consider whether getting something with more input/output options (line-in, microphone, midi) is worthwhile. You might want to do more with it some day than just recording from your record player.
Are the Focusrite audio interface the same sort of thing or would I be better getting the one shown above Thanks
Thanks for you'r help sounds great I will look in these units and yes the Apple lead is more than the unit. Thats mad.

There's nothing better about the one shown above compared to anything other than that it's inexpensive. Oh and it has an optical output if that's of any use.
It all comes down to price and features. It might be a good idea to think about what you might want to do with this down the road, how particular you are about audio quality, and how much you want to spend.
If $22 is no big deal to you and you wouldn't mind needing to buy something else later on to, say hook up guitars or mics, the UCA202 is a quick and easy solution.
Thanks I think the RCA audio red and white will take the audio from the amp and the posh apple connector will take the USB A and the lightning end will go in my iPhone { What app or iPhone software will I need to record the music ?? } Thanks
Yes, that is how things will be hooked up.
There are many, many options for that. AudioShare is a good all-purpose app that also provides a way for you to do basic trimming and normalizing (maximizing the volume if you record too quietly). It also lets you convert between different audio formats.
That would be my recommendation, but there are many ways to go about it, including the free GarageBand app that you probably already have. Voice Memos might also be able to use the external input, I don't know.
Many Thanks for you'r time on this matter I will look into it all Garage band is free that's cool
Thank You.
👍🏼 best of luck! There are lots of people ready to help if you run into any wrinkles along the way.
Cool Thanks
The Irig Stream from £50 used to £80 New and it has a free Lightning connector in the box so that saves a lot of cash { Like £25 to £50 right from the word go but I think you won't be able to charge the iPhone as you go along ? }
Thanks I will give this a good looking at.
