Chordjam and presets
I’ve been getting into Chordjam and have found some interesting ways to use it. It has some amazing capabilities.
But I’ve run into perplexity with it’s presets. Basically presets don’t seem to save anything.
Ideally I’d just like to save all of the variables at the top of the app; especially key, scale type, octave, and chord type.
And save them into the presets so that while I’m “jamming” I could easily switch keys/scales/chords. But when I make a preset nothing seems to get saved there that I can tell.
Wouldn’t you think that would be what the presets are for? The online manual doesn’t help me understand it.
Has anyone run into this problem and found a solution? Or can show me where I’m going wrong?

So the “presets” you’re saving at the bottom are patterns pertaining to that session. You need to click On that circle with the 9 squares in it that is on the right hand side of the sequencer. Then click save. This will bring you to a page where you can save your sequences or save the session, in which all those top parameters will be saved. I had to watch Audiomodern’s video tutorial to figure it out, not super intuitive…
Thanks for your help. I see now that I had misunderstood a few things. As you point out, the only way to save the settings I hoped is to enter chords into those pads. Then it will also recall the key/scales etc.
As for the presets at the bottom, I guess they save the sequencer settings. Something I haven't used. I want to change chords/keys/scales more spontaneously on my own. But now I can see a way to do this at least.
It has some complexities I hadn't thought through yet, so thanks again.
