Most Inspiring App
I'm curious what all of you think of as your most inspiring app. Which one seems to light a creative spark every time you open it?
For myself, Samplr was a wealth of inspiration when I first began really using my iPad. Next it was iPolysix that got the song writing juices flowing... Lately though I seem to have hit a rut. I bought myself an itunes card the other day and I'm at a loss as to what to get. Oscilab looks pretty rad so I might grab that, but I don't know if there's any others that are calling my name.
I'm not really trying to start a "help me pick an app" thread here, I'm just wondering which apps put you in your zone.

Mine is Alchemy....
Nave, Alchemy, Korg Gadget, Caustic, Thumbjam, TF7 Synth and Sector are probably the seven apps that usually stays open for more then a few seconds and gets some creative juices going.
If I only have to choose one app I'd probably say Alchemy. Wait, no Thumbjam...Actually Gadge... Aw can't choose just one
Alchemy really fires me up. The Himalaya Vintage library is a beast, for example it contains a VP-330 string sound that never fails to amaze me.
Samplr
Sector
I only have the free version of Alchemy, which I don't have downloaded right now. How is it as an all in one kind of deal? I know it has drum kits and a recorder, do you build songs within it or just use it as synth?
What kind of workflow do you guys have when using Sector? Do you have a mostly completed track that you then rearrange? Or is it better suited to creating little original bits to build from?
Korg Gadget, Samplr, Vio and Animoog.
Also consider that the inspiration you crave might not be an app! New keyboard or Microphone etc...
It inspire me to make a little song/idea with four parts to edit and continue on a daw like Auria....Sometimes make rhythm part too...
Thanks for all the replies. Never bit the bullet on Gadget as I was just sort of drifting from goofing off with iPolysix and iElectribe when it came out. I'm also a little disappointed to see it hasn't gotten any cool new features since it was released. I'm sure it's also only been maybe three months, but it seems like they could add a new synth app IAP every day and kill it Candy Crush style. The potential seems greater.
Figure.
Figure is a good one. Easy to make something happen quickly. TC-11, Thumbjam and Impaktor too; all for similar 'instant' reasons.
I really love NanoLoop. Minimal but powerful, easy to get stuff happening quickly. It almost always sounds kind of electronic music-y though, similar to Figure in that way. Not necessarily a bad thing but yeah, it is what it is.
Synths with randomize features on the presets are pretty good too! Magellan springs to mind but there are others.
Gotta be Impaktor and Animoog tie.
@CSwinn I use Sector to make little bits that I can chop up and sequence.
I only have a few of the Alchemy IAPs (add the Himalaya thing thanks @bixnood . Any other recs? Must haves? Thanks. jg
Animoog, Samplr, Impaktor and Sector
Audulus and Jasuto
Korg Gadget.
I tend to get more done due to its all-in-one nature. Fiddling with various apps via Audiobus or IAA can be an inspiration killer.
That said, it is lacking in certain areas, most notably mixing. I render stems and import them into Multitrack DAW and do final mixing there. Hopefully Korg will add more advanced channel strips.
Audulus. Custom Nodes makes this app very special. This is the one app I continue to open every day.
guess I need to acquire Samplr.
Figure was the app that got me into really make music on my phone. Most recently it's been Animoog. But I agree, Alchemy is prolly the most inspiring overall.
Genome Midi Sequencer is my music workhorse. Nothing else even comes close right now.
Soundprism Pro hands down and Beatmaker 2. The drum sounds inside of iMaschine are really great as well for inspiration.
Different Drummer for me.
Hi, ThumbJam is my "one for a desert Island".
And iDensity, Samplr and Borderlands (sweet update, were are you ?...).
Also always amazed by Alchemy.
Soundprism Pro is still my most inspiring app it's just unique. Next is NeoSoule Keys just because playing it gets my head open to ideas. The sound. Don't know why, but Alchemy has never grabbed my ear...
Audulus & Nave. Alchemy sounds great. I have over 5 gb of alchemy presets imported from the desktop, and I don't ever use the app. To me it's uninspiring because you can't create your own patches
I think there's to many to mention,I find I go to different apps depending on what mood I'm in or what I'm trying to create.
We really are spoiled with music apps these days. Its truly amazing what you can do on a ipad and the sounds you can create.Sometimes I take it for granted or wish a app had this function or that function and then I remember what it was like when I started making music in the 90s.We've come a long way:-)
Alchemy and Figure here would get my votes.
The next one, but in the meantime TJ and Auria.
