Drum apps for macOS?
Lumbeat apps (my go to's on the iPad even if only IAA) are not available as a universal so ergo will not even start under macOS Monterey.
So even though a tiny bit OT (macOs and not iOS) , is anyone aware of any apps for macOS that can operate in the same way as Lumbeats but on macOS?

EzDrummer, SuperiorDrummer, and Addictive Drums are probably the most popular, but JamStix might be more what you're looking for.
Thanks - got AD already, but it's how it works that I am after...those apps are fine for drum SOUNDS, but not for playing live. and yes Jamstix would be perfect (I have it for Windows) but macOS version is still beta, and likely to stay that way for quite some time according to the dev.
I haven’t had any issues using jamstix on Mac. If you have it for windows do you get the Mac license as well? I don’t remember.
Logic’s drummer plug-in works really well too.
mdrummer by melaproduction?
I would avoid Jamstix on the Mac if I were you. It’s great on Windows, but the Mac beta still has serious issues that make it pretty much unusable. I kind of feel like the dev gave up trying on the Mac version a couple of years ago.
Yep that was about the gist of what he replied to me too.
What issues do you experience? I’ve used it on Mac, but not a ton. I got it when I had to replace a drum track and didn’t think I’d be able to get a drummer to do it, but ultimately did recut it with a drummer. I haven’t used it on windows much at all. I haven’t experienced any crashes or anything on Mac, so are there other issues that I haven’t come across because I don’t use it that deeply?
Drambo works under MacOS. Great drum sampler.
@pax-eterna have you considered continuing with the LumBeats apps, but sending the audio to the Mac over iDAM? Or simply rendering to audio files and air dropping them to your Mac?
With Ableton Link, syncing things is seamless. There is some added latency with iDAM, but it’s manageable if playing live is required. With export and transfer you don’t have to deal with that.
MODO Drums (by IK Multimedia) is pretty good, but my default is GarageBand's own drummers and drum kits.
XO or Atlas I'd say first. Then Microtonic or Blinksonic's Subtanz or Cataliz (runs in Reaktor)
No, tbh I hadn't heard of it - I'll research that. Thanks as fro the rendering to audio, I do that already with my tracks, but the beauty of the lumbeats is you can just go fully live "on the fly" so to speak...just like a hardware drum machine.
A quick google search for "setting up idam on iOS" will get you lots of answers.
In Logic you can use the drummer plug-in to trigger MODO drums, it sounds great that way.
I do that all the time in GarageBand also.
Ah, I didn’t realize GarageBand could do that also. GB allows you to make the drummer regions into midi regions? That’s amazing for free!
The biggest problem I have had is the window floating over the top of another window problem. There are also blackouts of the entire UI (fixed by a mouse click on the UI, but this happens all the time).
Lots of minor issues too, but almost all of them related to UI issues and mouse behavior.
