I was trying to send MIDI clock/sync from Korg Gadget to a Korg VOLCA Sample
No luck. Volca was set to MIDI/Auto, Korg Gadget was set to MIDI/Auto. They were connected through a USB/MIDI interface (5-pin MIDI port on Volca was used). It worked in AUM ("Send MIDI clock" set to "Enabled" and 1st port of the interface chosen), but not in Korg Gadget. Pressing play in Gadget didn't start the VOLCA Sample sequence. Any tips on this?
Edit: Also, I don't know how KG Taipei is supposed to work with VOLCA Sample. I choosed the right preset, but all it did was that all keys of Taipei played the same sample (1st one) in the same pitch.

I can’t see that Gadget is sending any midi clock out myself.
I see. Consulted the KG manual and you're right. It's not sending its clock outside. The Ableton-link is the closest thing to that.
I'm still wondering what was the vision of Korg engineers in the VOLCA Sample / Korg Gadget usage. The preset for VOLCA Sample is one of the defaults in KG Taipei. But how is one supposed to use it?
Gadget does send midi out from Taipei, so in theory it should work with the Volca. It seems like there must be something wrong with your MIDI routing. You've set the output in Taipei to the Volca?
You can sequence the Volca and edit its parameters from Taipei but you can't sync the Volca's sequencer with Gadget.
I’m using a cheap Aliexpress USB/MIDI interface which might be to blame here 🤷♀️
This one?

I've trashed them all but kept the MIDI cables for DIY projects 😄
Korg SyncKontrol app will sync Gadget to Volcas. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/synckontrol/id438617344
