I wish I had the raw energy of this dude as it's the way I feel right now

I want it for my iPad NOW!
Will this be iOS? 🤤
We can always hope but since we're still waiting for iTriton for iOS I guess in a year or two maybe...
The opsix is my main hardware synth, and I love it. I just moved and got settled, so it had been in storage for months, but I've been having so much fun with it again. If this drives up the userbase and thus, preset packs etc., I'm excited.
I'm definitely going to cross-grade, and will 100% get an iOS port if/when that comes out.
Wow, I hope they release all their recent digital hardware as soft synths. That would be huge.
I’m more excited about this one, tbh.

Couldn’t download either via the Software Pass, but activating with my serials and then downloading from my account page worked fine.
Opsix and Wavestate native are both very tempting. Been planning to get Reason Studio’s Algoritm if they ever go M1 Native, but OPSix is native right out of the gate. Seems like Opsix could probably do most anything Algoritm can, and then some.
Yes as soon as I saw this was thinking of Korg gadget and wondering if they would filter down the sounds.
What's the name of that piece again? 😅
I have absolutely no clue
But this is how he creates minimalist ambient music at home with a harmonica...

The whole channels is very refreshing and very, very far away from 'mainstream'...
Definitely @Samu
The first video I saw from him was his Behringer Neutron "review".

Priceless.
Well, Milpitas (the original Wavestation) comes quite close. Although the choice of samples has been greatly expanded in Wavestate, not to mention custom sample import.
The OpSix sounds really nice...but I think I can get most of these sounds in MassiveX...so the GAS has been abated
But wow...truly an awesome thing Korg has done.
I've seen that one and the whole channel is a pure 'goldmine'
Petr rules, and that accordion piece rocks my world
This home just screams that 70s Eastern European small town vibe. 👊
I think it’s awesome they’ve done this. I got an opsix when they first came out and I still love the thing. FM and beyond. Affordable. Sounds top of the line. I’ve never really clicked with any Korg analog synths, but the opsix is definitely the spiritual successor to the DX7.
I have an old 32 bit Windows tablet I use for a few vsts like Synplant and Massive- I have been thinking about updating it to a new Lenovo or Asus tablet to run some newer stuff like Bit wig - time to get serious about that! I must have Wavestate Native! hopefully modwave soon!
Don't expect it to be fun on a Win tablet with finger operation - I've tried. You'll need a pen or a mouse.
Well, I’ve been thinking about this today, and I think this has made me decide to sell my OpSix (London only, not posting). If I can do the whole thing in an AU on the Macbook in Logic there’s little point in having the big physical thing that doesn’t fit anywhere. If it’s an AU on macOS I might as well wait until it’s an iOS app.
I haven’t really bonded with the OpSix as much as I thought I would. Part of the problem is that it’s too big and has to be sat on top of other things, which rarely results in it being level enough to use nicely. Part of the problem is that the knobs and sliders on the panel are not actually as useful as I first imagined. The knobs above the sliders change the ratio of each operator, and this doesn’t really need a knob for that, wiggling the knob while a note is playing just makes it sound daft, and you can never get it back to where it was by ear. Most of the time these days I just end up playing all six knobs just to make an obtuse angry sound which is about the least useful sound imaginable. That’s what I do now – play the ratio knobs, as if they’re supposed to be turned a lot all the way during each note.
I found the source of existence on Youtube. I don't need anything else in my life. Thank you @Samu
Initial impression: Wavestate is deep, glad it's a VST, reminds me of Pigments.
Opsix is really well designed, interface is very easy to use but it has tons of options.
I think it’s called “Fuck John Cage”
😆
I’m gonna use the AutoSampler on the new Maschine+ update when it comes out to capture all the nice sounding patches from these Demo Synths since they run for 20 minutes 😉
You own a MPC so autosampling is already possible, no need for a M+ for this
Capturing these 2 engines through sampling is not easy/pointless imo.
Wavestate is very evolving with all the sequencing and vector. Opsix is similarly dynamic.
I agree with your knobs point. It’s designed to look so simple, but in actuality there’s as much menu diving as ever going on. I think this aspect didn’t really bother me much just because I actually knew my way around FM synthesis by the time I bought this so it didn’t seem daunting anymore (not saying you don’t, I know you know your way around), and because the menu on the hardware is pretty easy and intuitive to navigate after a couple hours with it.
I think if I had a desktop I’d also go the way of the software to save some space. And because it would be nice to go back to a preset I’ve made and have all the knobs and settings visible (I guess this is more of a problem with modern analog synths with more knobs and less screen information). But I still don’t have any regrets buying it.
They're both great synths and it's really cool to own both hardware and plugin versions. The main benefit of the plugins for me is automation/modulation. But even with the menu diving in the hardware versions, having a physical interaction design is always going to take you to different places than interacting with plugins.
If you create decent controller templates for the plugins you can potentially improve on the hardware interaction design (especially when using Behringer BCR2000, Novation Launch Control XL or one of Novations Automap capable controllers such as the SL Mk II range). It's always nice to map hardware knobs to a specification that's tuned to your common go-to parameters.
Really hoping that Korg gets around to bringing their latest plugins to iOS. I'm sure they will at some point. The Prophecy, Triton and miniKog 700s emulations are just as compelling as the Wavestate and Opsix. And on this occasion, they will hopefully get on board with AUv3's.
I know but i want to use the new update for something 🤪
I don’t really like the WaveState. The patches did nothing for me. I was having John Tesh and Yanni flashbacks while playing it. So i won’t be sampling this synth.
The OpSix patches seemed sample worthy.
Yes i realize the dynamic nature of the synth but to say it’s pointless isn’t a fair assessment. You have no idea what i want to do with the sounds so why should you care what i do with my sampling exercises?
All things are possible with sampling. Entire albums are built from Samples 😉
I have 20 minutes to see what gets extracted anyhoo so we’ll see how to enjoy the process and learn a thing or two and I’ll try to keep my pointless exercise to myself 😜
Although i am sure i will post the samples for others to enjoy.
