a particulant set of MIDI Apps

Helleus.
I’m currently using Xequence to launch clips for a hardware analog bass synth.
Do you have some apps to reccomend with an easy song creation mode where I could play part ‘A’ ‘B’ ‘B’ ‘C’
,,
and also be able to change between sets of pattern using virtual CC’s?
Should i Try ATOM 2?
What app can I choose for some big «on screen» buttons for virtually sending change pattern?

Do you have some ideas?
Would be great, then I will just use the iPad as a midi controller during jams

LK would be a good choice I think. Maybe Helium, though I can't say since I don't own it. Atom2 could be used but would have more instances and setup than you probably would like.

    For sending CC's from buttons:

    • LK has one module that has a customizable set of buttons, knobs, and faders that can send any CC's you want (no Program Change though).
    • If you have Mozaic, and its pads are big enough for your purposes, the Basic MIDI Controls script is customizable to send any MIDI messages you need from the pads.
    • You can make totally customizable control surfaces with Loopy Pro, ignoring the looping side of things completely.
    • If you don't care about the control surface being AUv3, Midi Designer Pro 2 is the most comprehensive control surface builder.
    • Also not AUv3, but good too is TouchOSC.

I know two options that work well:
    LK by Imaginando
    Genome MIDI

Both are MIDI clip launchers that can be controlled via MIDI.
In LK, you switch pattern sets by MIDI mapping scenes and in Genome you're using song steps (with song mode disabled).

  • Dis is interest, tanx @wim ,,
Loopy might be good when Midi is implemented, I’ll try to screw my head around how I can record from my favorite virtual midi sequencers directly into it, or run one as a AuV3 inside Loopy.

I was planning to use a launchpad with comp recording in loopy as a final solution for recording,
I just need some nice audiotools to make basslines in tandem with that process..
It’s a bit hmm for me atm.

I’m like wondering if it will be too much work to switch between loopy and Modstep, of if maybe that will be just allright.

Maybe I will forego the Launchpad setup,, was thinking to have an ableton songbuilding solution, but I jeed some time to make a line or two for my hardware aswell if I explain this well enough

Depending on which Launchpad you have, it may be integrated with LK or Atom2.

  • BTW, you can try LK for free. You'll get popups until you purchase the modules you need (Matrix, and possibly, Controller), but should be able to get an idea whether it fits for you or not. As for Helium, there are plenty of videos to show you exactly what it doesn on the 4pockets YT channel.
