Pune Pirouette/ 2x Hammerhead

Not sure what got me to plug in Hammerhead on this, but, serendipitously, it has great tablas. Plus PurePiano, BeatHawk SynthBass, Celeste and Marimba.

  • A nice bit of whimsy to wake up to 😁

Definitely, thanks for this little dose, did me a world of good 🙏

  • You’re most welcome @Krupa. Maybe I’ll try to keep my stuff upbeat…. But it’s doubtful unles I go ambient 😉🙏

  • Mike using hammerhead? I had to click! And it was instant pleasure, of course.
The tablas sound amazing, mate... accompanying your energetic piano

  • glad to hear you've elaborated on the tabla/piano idea. I still want to try this myself. I didn't know there were tabla in Hammerhead; thanks for pointing that out.

I know right! I was like Mike? hammerhead?

Cool Jam Mike, Hammerhead is my favorite non-Lumbeat drum app (with FAC Drummer and Drum computer tied for a close second)

  • Most excellent, LL. I love the breakbeats drifting in later in the piece.

  • Very enjoyable, and the drums really worked for it. Not sure about the fade-ins and fade-outs? I think the drums could have been a bit ruder so to speak. The piano is excellent as always.

  • @senhorlampada, Hammerhead is usually above my radar but none of the Lumbeats would have worked on this one. Have a great weekend, bro🙏
@Stochastically, yep, tabla and piano strike again.
Thx @Edward_Alexander, hope you’re not working this weekend.
Thanks @gusgranite, glad you liked it!
@JudasZimmerman, yeah, drums in and out are my idiosyncrasy. I just like what happens when they come in on instruments. Instant ratchet up. Can’t get that with continuous drums.

lol I work every weekend Mike!

Hey, here’s something you can try with Hammerhead; load it up and use Atom 2 as a MIDI processor and point it to Hammerhead. Now you can compose/write your own drum lines in Atom (bass drum starts at C2!) complete with each note having individual velocity control and the best grid settings in a piano roll (down to 1/64 with full Tuplet control (Triplet, Quintolet, septolet and more).

Atom 2 also has pattern tools, so you can write complex patterns and switch between them by using an LFO or another instance of Atom as a controller to send pattern change messages (by note, CC, PC, or velocity).

  • That sounds a bit above my pay grade @Edward_Alexander. Unlike yourself, I’m stuck in a mid 20th century mindset…. like, Thelma, move the rabbit ears a little to the right, maybe we’ll get a better picture… no? Oh well, it was worth a try.
